Have you ever seen such a drastic decline? The lock-out really killed guys careers. Odom and Melo are the front runners for the "what the heck happened" award.

Most overrated player in NBA history. How he got the "superstar" title, I will never understand.

Dude's in a scoring slump. The player that's really washed up is Amare.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Hopefully the Knicks come to the same conclusion and let him go so we can claim him off waivers.  :D

All the people that complain about Bass' defense.

At least we're not paying a combined 36 million bucks this year for two guys that dont play D.

Said it before nd I'll say it again 20,000 point scorer wit no accolades or rings he's gettin close to Vince Carter status

Basically thats Kobe if he didn't have Shaq, or the twin towers in Bynum and Gasol

I wanna agree but I feel Carmelo's teammates were no where near as good as Kobe's... like that 3 yr span where Kobe didnt have Shaq or Gasol. He never passed the 1st round of the playoffs and missed the playoffs one of those years. Vince Carter, Carmelo, and Kobe would all be in the same boat if Kobe didn't have 7 ft giants win titles for him

Clearly having a bad year....perhaps lock-out related, perhaps not.  But at 27, not sure folks should be labeling him washed up just yet....the guy has had some great years.

Yeah, definitely in a career slump, (which all players go through), and has always been a bit over-rated, IMHO, but washed up? We all should be so washed up. ;)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He is definitely overrated.
His defense is below average and his scoring is elite while his rebounding is above average.
Not a franchise changing player but a solid All Star.

Put it this way, if he were still in the Western conference he probably wouldn't make the starting five for the All Star game.

He's almost like a poor mans Kevin Durant- where Durant's total domination on the offensive end makes up for his average defensive impact.
The great ones of our recent era like MJ, Bryant, Lebron, KG all dominate on both ends of the floor and that's what sets them apart.
Carmelo also has obvious issues with his weight. Someone who wants to be the best doesn't eat pizza every night like this guy. (I don't know that he does but he certainly isn't making an effort to lose weight).
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
