We are killing the Blazers right now. Danny needs to try and swing a deal for Wesley Matthews soon. Portland will be looking to make a deal after loosing so badly. Matthews is signed through 2014/15 for realatively cheap (6M) and has starter potential. He would help us out short term and long term. The only question is... what do we have to give for him? Portland needs a backup PF and another guard. Would Wilcox + Dooling get it done? Most likely not. Any trade ideas for Matthews?

it would probably take Bradley and JJJ or a pick

I would rather hang on to Bradley he is starting to produce on offense and if he can do that with his defense he is a huge weapon off the bench against Rose and Dwade in the playoffs.

I agree. What we get from Bradley we cant really get back in a fair trade. Would Wilcox + JJJ + clippers pick be enough for Matthews? Not sure if salaries match up and it does leave us a little short upfront (shorter than we already are) Maybe we could get Chris Johnson? or think long term and get Greg Oden.

Nah ... better to keep the cap flexibility open.

Wesley Matthews is a guy you get after you put your core in place.

I'm the biggest Wes Matthews fan on the blog and even I admit he's not right for this team now.  In the Summer of 2009, he was perfect and exactly what we needed-- AMIRITE Nickagenta-- but not now.

Look through the players unpicked after the 2012 draft and you might find the next Wesley Matthews.
