boston includes the clippers pick (this hurts)

The Celtics gain Camby a veteran center who will rebound and defend, we give up a first but gain a prospect in Babbit. Babbit has yet to show anything in the NBA but really hasn't been able to get playing time behind Wallace and Batum. If he was coming out of college as a senior this year he would be worth a 20s pick.

No.

Camby is on the slide, just a little higher on it then JO.

No way the Celtics should give up Wilcox to get him, let alone a 1st round draft pick.

Camby can still defend and rebound. He is actually the NBA leader is rebounds per 48 minutes. A rotation of KG, Camby, Bass, and JJJ would not be bad for one last playoff push.

If Diaw gets bought out and Danny can talk him into joining the Cs then he takes JJJ minutes and we actually look pretty good at 4/5

It is overpaying for another older player.

Luke Babbit has as much talent as a player that we would get with the Clippers pick. Draftexpress has clippers pick being Jeffrey Taylor. He is putting up the same numbers in the D-League that he did in college, he really hasn't had any shot at rotational minutes in the nba.

Marcus Camby is better then Chris Wilcox

JO is hurt

Keyon Dooling isn't getting much PT and we are better of with Avery getting the minutes

So the best Ainge can do in the draft is a guy with a 1.3 points per game average (for his career.  He is below his career average this year)

Babbitt is 22 (younger then JJJ), has above average size for a 3 (6'9), tested out good athletically in predraft camp, and has proven to be an above average shooter in college and the d-league. In the NBA he is trapped behind to very good SFs. With playing time he should prove to be a very good rotational player.

No upside in this trade... At all... Wouldn't put us over the hump this season... And surely would not help us going forward... I like our chances drafting a better player than Luke Babbitt in this years DEEP draft.

This just doesn't make sense for the franchise.

And his career is not as good as G. Green.

Basically for the future its a question of Babbitt being worth a late 1st. Most say he is not I say he might be.

For the chance of adding camby to the starting lineup I role the dice on Babbitt.

Just my opinion.

pass - doesn't do enough to help this year (if at all) and really doesn't help the future.

If you don't think a shotblocking paint presence like Camby wouldn't help the Cs dramatically this year, I question if you've been watching the Celtics play this season (worst rebounding team in the league combined with butter soft interior defense.)

The Cs desperately need a big if they're going to do anything besides go home early in the playoffs. If the cost is a late first round pick that probably won't end up being much of an NBA player, I take that shot.

In the playoffs, with no back to backs, the Cs could be very dangerous with a healthy Camby patrolling the paint.  Add Camby, and hope that MP3 is hot from 3, and the Cs will be a very difficult out.
