I'll best option right now... lots of upside, but in bad situation.

Send: J.O. + J.J. + 2nd rd pick

Receive: Blatche

There are issues with Dray. Laziness and selfishness and not playing defense. But I for one believe a change of scenery for this young man with undeniable starter quality talent will help him greatly. Every body is saying that come rebuilding time, he'll be a problem. Im not saying he couldn't but he could also start to grow up with this team starting now.

I don't wanna give JJ for him though. JO and a 2nd would be enough for Washington. Booker is playing great and Vesely can handle PF duties as well. THe fact that they can get rid of 8 million dollars in the next few years would be enough to pull the trigger.

From Wages of Wins  "First, it extended Andray Blatche’s contract. Blatche has been consistently well below average since he entered the league out of high school in 2005. In addition to shooting poorly, he is a poor rebounder, and he turns the ball over a lot. Now Washington is stuck paying him a mid level salary until 2015 unless they can dupe some sucker into trading something of value for him"...

You are officially that sucker!!    He's a gigantic cancer on a long terrible contract-- one of the worst in the league...

Here's the trade to think about, to put it in perspective:

Boston gets Blatche and Wash 2nd rounder 2012
Washington gets.... Nothing

Who says no???

Boston says no.

Well said.

It is the combine lack of basketball IQ of Blatche, Mcgee and Young that is killing the development of Wall.

We do not want that long term issue on the rebuilding Celtics.

Monday's Worst

That's So Wizards: Rashad Mobley of Truth About It summed it up best, noting how Wizards big man Andray Blatche was first out-jumped by 5-foot-9 Warriors guard Nate Robinson for a defensive rebound. Then N8 sprinted the length of the court and drained a 3-pointer. The Verizon Center fans then showered Blatche with boos.

The Celtics are in trouble if they don't get a big.  No one is going to trade us a big that doesn't have some issues.  I feel the contract is short enough and the price is probably low enough (assuming the deal is Blatche for JO and not much more) that Blatche may just be our price point.

I think a change of scenery would serve as at a minimum a short term wake-up call.  We may never see his full potential but we don't need that for it to be an upgrade.

I'm waiting for the traditional "KG will make him play hard" argument.

It sure worked for another enigma named Mark Blount.....

better yet, Sheed.  I agree, for all the talk from some people about KG (or the vets in general) whipping some slacker into line, I've yet to see it.

Some would have you think KG could turn Charles Manson into a productive member of society.

What??? Blatche for season ending injury/surgery J.O. you all wouldn't do? Glad you're not GM's. Of course we have to give a someone else to at least make the.deal fair. Blatche can't be no more of a hot head than Rondo for Doc to deal with.
