This is awesome.  My wife and I recently got pregnant with our first child.  We were offered an amniocentesis test to check for Downs Syndrome, in case we would want to abort.  We declined the procedure.  We have no idea if our child will have Downs or not.  We won't find out until she's born in a few months.

But a story like this is a great reminder that no matter what challenges your child might be born with, their mere existence is still a miracle*.


*not meant to refer to a religious-based miracle, as I am not a believer.
