I wouldn't mind him back but not at the cost of rondo  :o.  Like him or not rondo is a great contract, al is overpaid.  At this point in his career don't you have to look at al's game and lack of improvement?  If he would pass out of the post better it would make him that much a better offensive threat.  His defense is suspect but to me that could COULD change with a coach & system.  We need an inside out game but when the ball would go inside it wouldn't come out!
I'd welcome him to the team for a LOT less

two things,
first, can you imagine rajon's frustration when he feeds jeff the ball in the post then watches one dribble, two dribble, one move, another move, a juke, reverse and shot, 2 points no assist... rajon gonna love that. thats why i'm ok with swapping the two instead of trying to put them on the same team.

second, 19 points, 9 rebounds 2 assists 1.6 blocks and a PER of over 23. all these numbers are improvements on last year and show steady improvement from the injury year.

finally, al may not play stellar d, but he's not as bad as his rep.  there aren't many great defenders who can put up 20/10 from the center spot.
if we did this trade i'd love to see how his D improves playing next to KG. next year we try pairing him with an above average defender at the power forward spot or slide jeff to PF and bring in an athletic defensive specialist at the 5

I think he would help a lot more with rebounding and scoring than he would hurt with defense and or passing. I really don't think one player will drag this team down that much defensively(esp if he can grab d boards) but I do think he can give a lot to the team offensively and is a guy who can create his own offense and shot,  especially in the half court.

This is what I worked out to get big Al back here:

KG From Boston -------> Utah
JO from Boston --------> OKC
Paul Millsap from Utah --------> OKC
Al Jefferson from Utah --------> Boston
Kendrick Perkins from OKC --------> Boston

Nazr Mohammed from OKC ------------> Utah

The theory behind the trade is to get Big Al and Kendrick Perkins back together with Rondo because they had great chemistry together. Holinger the ESPN mathematician calculates Plus One win for Boston. I say that good times will be rolling in Boston and that Wilcox, Bass, Big Al, and Kendrick will stabilize the Boston frontline. Heck JJJ could join the fun here.

The Utah Jazz are doing this for financial reasons and it is assumed they will pick up two number ones from Boston and one number one from OKC. They are believed to be turning their attention to Derrick Favors and others.

OKC did the best Getting Paul Millsap and Jermaine Oneal getting an estimated plus nine wins. But they are all in on this NBA title chase. Jermaine O'Neal can find a role here and he needs a change in scenery.

I don't think trading Rondo is the answer. The Celtics problems are rebounding and lack of low post scoring. They address those problems with this trade.

I wouldn't mind seeing Big Al in green again, but the above effectively cashes in ALL of our chips, cap room AND picks for Jefferson + Perkins. No thanks. Those two and nothing left over isn't taking us far. I'd rather have $20M to spend and 2 more young talents.

We still have Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rondo, Bass, Wilcox, Marquis Daniels, Avery Bradley, Dooling, Marquis Daniels, and Steisma to work with. Al Jefferson has had horrendous luck on landing on teams with bad situations. He is not a loser and does not bring losers luck. We could his skills in low post scoring and he must be better than Jermaine O'Neal at rebounding and defense. Kendrick and Jefferson are good buddies along with Rondo so they can be our new core going forward. Keep Pierce and Ray Allen for senior consultants. Well, I am hoping for this deal to engineer a 2nd most remarkable turnaround in the history of the NBA :D
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Rondo+JO+Wilcox
for
AL+Harris+Evans

works cap wise,

If Harris could get back on track and plays like he did last year the Cs would be a better team then they are right now. If he continues to slump then its a lateral move. The big man rotation would still center around Bass playing big minutes and KG and al playing center along side him. JJJ would have to step up as the 4th big.  This would dip into our FA money for this year but set us up for a big FA summer when pierce,AL, and harris all come off the books.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Please rank from first to worst: Troy Murphy in his prime, Al Jefferson, Carlos Boozer, and David Lee.

1. Al Jefferson
2. David Lee
3. Troy Murphy (very close)
4. Carlos Boozer
I like Marcus Smart

Bos gets Utah 1st rounder.

Why for Bos and Utah has been discussed at length.

Minnesota gets scoring two guard to take load off Kevin Love, keeps prospects in process.

Houston gets two expiring contracts and unloads overpaid Martin.  Gives themselves cap flexibility to make run at multiple marquis free agents or swing a trade of Scola, Beasley and draft pick to pry Gasol from LA.

Jazz fans are totally up for trading for Rondo.

Jazz are one of the few franchises with pieces I'd want for rondo, and yeah they're desperate for someone like him... idk if trading rondos the right move but you know danny's on the phone

I was just looking through some Jazz forums and there's people saying they'd trade a package of guys such as Millsap/Hayward/Harris plus a first rounder for something like rondo/ray/JO... I'd honestly do it in a heartbeat... especially considering the fact that the pick they're suggesting is the 2012 GSW pick they have which has potential to be incredibly valuable in this draft. A young pf, a great rebounder in Millsap, and a 3rd first round pick which could be very low? Sounds like a trade for the future in using a desperate franchise :p
