He seems done in NO. Maybe he gets bought out, but I doubt the asking price is crazy. JO, Wilcox, and dooling gets it done. Saves the hornets three mill. We can throw in a second.

Also steemsma, Johnson, Bradley, dooling, and Jo works. This creates three more mill in cap space for us next season and provides the hornets with a savings of three million and some young talent on rookie deals.

The New Orleans Hornets are actively trying to trade center Chris Kaman who was not with the team for its home game Friday night against Orlando as the league-owned Hornets field trade calls for him.

The Hornets have decided to shelve Kaman until they can find a trade home for him after making the decision to give his minutes to young players. Kaman had been made inactive for Wednesday's loss at Oklahoma City even though he's not injured.

"As NBA/Hornets survey trade market for Chris Kaman, Rockets, Pacers, Jazz, Spurs are a few teams with interest, sources tell Y!"

Other than the Rockets, why are any of those teams after him? We have a much larger need for him then any of them.

Kaman would be a nice pickup but that's a lot of the roster to ship out for just him in either deal.
C's have won recently without JO, Wilcox and Dooling but I'd really like to have Wilcox and Dooling to bring in off the bench to provide a vet presence.  I don't want the only experienced PG on the roster to be Rondo.

Pacers have cap space and no back-up 5.  The Jazz don't need him, IMHO, but they have the Okur exception.  Houston has disposable/expiring young guys who don't get off the pine in Flynn and Thabeet.

The Spurs... no idea what they'd be offering.

As for Kaman, I don't view him as much better than JO at this point.  Extremely slow.  Decent J, but not an efficient offensive player anymore.  Good rebounder, but too slow to be much of a positive for this team.

After seeing younger, more athletic guys from our bench really help us win games of basketball this past week, I'm really reluctant in wanting to go for the slowest center on offer.

The Hornets will stop playing Chris Kaman as they look for a trade.

"We had a conversation with Chris and expressed that the Hornets are going to go in a different direction. We mutually decided for a number of reasons that we are not going to play Chris as we pursue a trade. Chris has been the ultimate professional during this process and we thank him for the way he has handled the situation."

Bad trade...

Two bigs (One slow, one athletic) + a first round pick for one slow big...

Kaman's offensive game is good but not worth that.

No thanks.

I don't see the reason to get Kaman.
It would be a one year rental of an expensive big man. If we really think he's going to change the long term fortunes of the Celtics, then we can get him in the offseason.

Good point. Why break up the chemistry we've only just started building up?

I'd love Kaman but the asking price (future 1st I guarantee) isnt worth it.
