Out of curiosity, how do draft order/teams get determined?

That will be a topic of discussion. I was thinking of having a contest for the top 3 teams in the league, and doing a standard randomizer for the remaining 24.

Because, lets face it. Building around LBJ/Wade, Durant/Westbrook, or CP3/Griffin is gonna be a lot easier than rebuilding around Bogut/Jennings (which I had to do last season, and I will NOT do again.

Here's an idea, IP -

Make Round 1 be teams.

So if I have the first overall selection I can pick what team (and 2 players) I'd be starting my franchise with.

EDIT: Also gives people more control over the type of team they get to rebuild. For example rebuilding around the Bucks might not sound fun to some (ie: you), but it might be a dream for others (ie: not me)

That's a good idear. How does everyone also feel about the modified snake? Regular snake? Jake the Snake Roberts?

(Also, Snake-eyes, House Slytherin, and Sly and the Family Stone?)

I like a combination of modified and the previous idea. So if you get the 1st couple picks and take one of those 3, then you pick last in the first two rounds of real drafting.

Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey

I said I was in...I just might need a co-GM. I'll recruit one if I have too.

Throw me down as a 50/50.  Depends on what time, as usual.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Its all going to be afternoon/evening, like last year.

Okay, then I'm a 90/10.

nick has talked me into being a consultant / part-time co-manager, so I guess I'll be participating after all.  I'm sure my wife will be psyched as I'm posting on CelticsBlog from the delivery room.   :o

Well to be fair, there is literally no way you're going to be doing the real CB draft this year, so I'd just tell her deal with it, or you're gone.

Priorities.

i might be interested in doing it.  is it as time consuming as the regular draft? do you have to do a ton of writing, press conferences, and stuff like that, or can u just draft your team and interact/debate with others?

im interested but dont have a ton of time that people put into it with all the writing and stuff.

In the past it's just been the draft and banter throughout, no formal playoff, judging, or press conferences.

EDIT: I know right now I couldn't put in the usual 'Celticsblog draft' like commitment.
