Dumars is truly not that bad a GM to trade us Monroe.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

He is a restricted free agent this summer.  I think we'd have a better shot there, albeit, probably not much better.

Next summer no?  This is only his second year?

Regardless, Celtics aren't getting Monroe.  The kid is one of the better young centers in the game, and he has all-star potential.  We have nothing to offer.  We didn't have enough to offer to get DeMarcus Cousins who is a headcase, we don't have enough to offer an equally skilled, unselfish big man.
do it

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
why would Pistons give him up?

This.

On a side note, BJ (I think he goes as Byron now) Mullens, is playing solid in Charlotte after finally given some playing time. He's something to look at. We have a first rounder we can possibly give to Charlotte for him and a 2nd. He's averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds in 24 minutes of play in the last 10 games. Still fairly young and has room or a little to grow.

Most of these posts are so unrealistic, whenever any young player on a bad team starts playing well everyond thinks the C's can just trade Ray Allen and a 1st for him... it's not that simple. Greg Monroe is Detroits only good player.

Detroit doesnt trade him for anything the Cs can offer.

I i was Joe Dumars I would be working the phones for williams and Howard. If you look at there roster they really have some nice young piece Knight, Monroe, Stucky, Jerico, Daye. If they can make a push to center a trade around monroe for howard then they might be able to get williams to push the nets to trade him to detroit.

Monroe + Stucky + Daye + 1st for Howard(need to add vets for ($) I take this trade over Lopez + 2 1sts

then

Knight + Jerico + Gordon + 1st for Williams (only happening if williams threatens to walk for nothing)
