He's pretty much lost for the season with his shoulder injury. We should try and package together KG and possible some picks in order to start rebuilding.

Killer blow to the Hawks.

I'd imagine they'll try to move Hinrich for stop-gap big man.  Maybe Kaman.

I would love having Horford, even if we have to wait until next season. But, I doubt the Hawks ever let go of him.

How about something for both teams this year and the Hawks get to keep Horford?

How about KG + JO + Bradley + one of our this years firsts picks + cash for Josh Smith, ZaZa and Hinrich.

We compete this year and have Josh Smith as a piece for the future and the Hawks stay relevant this year and keep Horford.

I'd honestly still rather have Horford. He's a much more complete player, in that you can play him at the 4/5 and still have a huge talent at either position.

I agree, but waiting for Horford means we are giving up completely on this year and immediately starting the rebuild.

Let's start the rebuild with a relatively young Josh Smith and still have a shot this year. Smith and Hinrich would add alot to our chances this year and going forward.

Horford is also on a Rondo like contract for the next 4 seasons. Theoretically, we could end up having Rondo+Horford+Monta Ellis (as an example) All for 34M next season. That is A LOT of cap space to sign role players, and good ones too.
