I don't know... this game screams "trap" to me. We should win this -by all means- since Dallas has had a crappy start, we've had the rest and have our full line-up, where they go without their starting point.

Yet, I don't feel comfortable, at all.

Is this going to be the "make it or break it" game? Are we going to play lousy and still win? Are we going to play decent and still lose?

I'd like a blowout, either way, so that we get a decent statement, so that we're either going to be out of excuses, or playing like champions. Obviously, I'll be cheering for the latter :p

It's time.

LET'S GO CELTICS!!!
I know we all got a little "homer" in us but come on no more trap this or tired legs BS excuse it's time to go out there and win. I agree with Doc we are playing soft as hell and need to man up.

agreed - no excuses tonight.  there's nothing holding them back against a win tonight.  if they lose, it'll provide some insight into whether this team has the talent to compete or if they have the heart to compete.

KG's defense on Dirk..

Or lack thereof.

Dirk averaged 27 points vs Boston last season, and 32 the year before that. He usually goes off against them, so I'm expecting a big game. Hopefully the Celtics win regardless of Dirk though.

Looking forward to getting off work and watching this one at home. I agree with everybody. With the 4 days off, time to practice and Pietrus's debut, I think we need to win this one or my panic meter will go up +1. We have every reason we could to win this game.

Also, they played last night and had to travel... if they lose to us it doesn't say much but if we lose, it's not panic time but it will say we have A LOT of work to do (I'd also be sad and upset)!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Daniels update...via Sherrod Blakely twitter:

#Celtics M. Daniels at shoot-around. Questionable for #Mavs game.

#Celtics M. Daniels last player to leave shoot-around today. Clearly wants to play tonight vs Mavs.

Definitely not concerned about Daniels tonight.

I want to see Pietrus get plenty of floor time in his debut.

Let's also not forget that our last game was awful! We should have something to prove after that stinker!!!

I am. I don't expect Pietrus to be able to log too many minutes with his conditioning most likely being off. And if Daniels is out, it means Bradley will get some run. Plus, I want to see the second unit of Bass, Pietrus, Dooling, Daniels, and Wilcox or Steamer start to build some continuity. The sooner the better.

You can only call games "trap" if your team is the strong favorite to win. And given the Celtics current showing, I don't think they should have any "trap" games this season at all.

Another great game thread. Thanks and tp.

The celtics can win this one. Rondo is going to be the key for the celtics.
