Who do you guys think could be the 2nd player from the celtics that could make this trade work? I think the Thunder would at least consider it since ray could immedeatley be a reliable scorer for them in the post season.

I am not sure they would make this deal but I am convinced they are going to move Allen this year at the deadline.

Yeah I feel like it is the right thing to do for the future for sure.

Teams that would trade for Ray at the deadline imo are Dallas, Miami, Chicago, Memphis, and NY. What do those teams have to offer us in return? I think Memphis could make a decent offer. I'm not sure the other teams can.

Chicago could make some real nice offers with Taj Gibson, Joakin Noah, or Omar Asik. They need scoring and Ray could solve that lickety split.

But I would rather have James Harden than any of those guys.

Rondo is only trade chip valuable enough for Oklahoma to consider putting James Harden on the table. And even then, with Westbrook there, I doubt they'd even be willing to discuss that.

Deal is a non-starter. Boston has nothing they want.

Allen has said he would rather retire a Celtic that play elsewhere. The should be respected. The David West trade was not just about this year. Any trade that is just about this year would be a mistake.

Any trade for James Harden is certainly not just about this year.

That ship has sailed.  Our best chance to get Harden was during the Perkins trade but OKC wouldnt budge.  Instead they gave us Green.

Ray Allen is also sorta irreplaceable for the Celtics right now.  Who out there can come in and replace his skillset?  I'd rather play Ray for the entire season, and then use the cap space he frees up when his contract is over to sign a monster in 2012 - Can we say Dwight Howard?
