Stevenson proved his worth in the NBA Finals. He hits threes, is crazy athletic and is a more than decent defender. The Celts are lacking in all 3 of those categories off the bench. I'd love to see what Stevenson can do here. He'd be fired up playing with the big three and Rondo. It would also really help DeShawns legacy is he came here and helped us win a title. If Dallas did it last year, why not the celtics this year?

Also, DeShawn is an infamous LeBron James hater which doesn't hurt  ;)

Dooling, Daniels, Stevenson, Bass, Wilcox is a solid bench.

Here's what Stevenson brings to the table.

If Stevenson was looking for the minimum, he'd have been signed by someone at this point.

Surprised D.Stevenson hasn't parlayed his performance last season into a multi-year contract in the $3 million a year range.

I'd be shocked if D.Stevenson couldn't find someone willing to pay him more than the C's can.

you have to imagine that if Stevenson wanted more $$, his options are dwindling as the season is a little over a week away with teams already playing pre-season games.

apparantly Dallas offered him the minimum...but with Carter, terry, Delonte I dont think he would get minutes there.

we can offer him solid minutes on a championship contendor...something other teams might not be able to offer for the Vet-min

I fully agree but since the markets thin could he try and demand more money even at 1 year?

I dont know how the salarys work but if we had to pay him even just a bit more than the vet min I think it's still worth the risk, with some luck and another decent big man I'd love our team.

At this point id try to take a run at either stevenson of outlaw cause we are going to need one of the two.., Do we still have the mini MLE or has it been confirmed that we gave it to Wilcox?

I think Wilcox got the MMLE, but we do have a couple of small trade exceptions.  Could we give the Mav's a 2nd round pick and an exception for a resigned Stevenson.

As for Outlaw, he was amnestied, right? If that's so, he'll have to (a) clear waivers, and then (b) we could offer him only the vet min. I don't think (a) will happen and I don't think he'd take (b).
