In the NBA, you have to give up value and eat a bad contract to take on a really good player. Dwight Howard is a franchise player you can build a team around. Paul Pierce is not at that level, at least not anymore.

Howard is ridiculously overrated and it's due to the crappiness of the Center position in the NBA.
