Now I am definately not for the lakers getting dwight howard, but this is a plausible scenario where it could happen. It seems pretty fair for everyone.

Lakers get- D. Howard and Turkoglu
Rockets get- paul gasol
Magic get - Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Bynum.

Lakers give up their bigs but get the beast, Rockets get their man for less than they would have in the CP3 deal, and the magic get a near playoff team and don't have to rebuild forever. That's actually a pretty solid group

pg- J. Nelson
sg- K. Martin
sf-Scola
pf- BBD
C- Bynum    not amazing but not that bad.

I like this for the Lakers more than I do for them getting CP3

I like it on paper for all teams.  LAL would find it very difficult to defend Memphis and Dallas in the playoffs at the PF spot though.  I assume that Odom and Turk would be manning the PF duties on this squad.

interesting idea, though i wouldn't be surprised if the lakers tried to pry away dwight howard without having to trade gasol, considering that their main competitor is new jersey.

I think the idea of Rockets wanting Pau was a plan in which they would also go after Nene. So if Nene doesn't go there, I would guess Rockets have limited interest in getting Pau.

I think Howard is worth more than CP3.  I think the Magic are going to demand Bynum and other considerations from a third team.

I'd rather have Pau Gasol and A.Bynum than A.Bynum, L.Scola and Kev Martin.

On a team with nobody else I would disagree, but since the Magic already have J Rich at the 2 I agree.

On a side note, is anyone else worried about the Magic becoming a force if they get Bynum and Gasol for Howard?  I really think they would be tough to match up with.  They still have Nelson and Richardson, no slouches.  All they would need is a halfway decent SF and they would be one of the best teams in the east.  Easily the only one with size.

Yes -- I think the Magic will improve.

Not quite sure their supporting cast is good enough to immediately make them a title contender but they wouldn't be far off. Very close. Definitely have a great shot at making up that difference in the future.

On a basketball level, I'd love to see those two move to Orlando and get away from Kobe Bryant. It'd be great to see them spread their wings and show what they can do without Kobe taking 20+ shots a night from the table.
