Celts in talks to trade Davis to Orlando

Boston Herald: The Celtics have apparently decided that Glen Davis’ future is better elsewhere.

According to a league source, the Cs are in discussions with Orlando to send Big Baby, in a sign-and-trade deal, to Orlando for power forward Brandon Bass - a player Magic management had been very high on at one stage.

I like Bass on this team a lot.

The Celtics have apparently decided that Glen Davis’ future is better elsewhere.

According to a league source, the Cs are in discussions with Orlando to send Big Baby, in a sign-and-trade deal, to Orlando for power forward Brandon Bass - a player Magic management had been very high on at one stage.

In addition, the Celtics are pursuing Chris Wilcox, a journeyman big man who played with Detroit last season. The team is also finalizing a trade for Bucks guard Keyon Dooling and a second round draft pick. The Cs will only trade the rights to Albert Morales - a player they have held the rights to for the last five years.

Excellent news, I hope it happens. Getting rid of Baby would be sweet and putting Bass on the team would be a major addition to the bench/frontcourt.

I like Bass on this team a lot.

I'll take Bass over BBD just because of his athleticism and the fact he's a fresh face. He's just as much of a black hole as Davis though.

Yeah it's funny. It seems the league undervalues Rondo in trades and overvalues BBD...at least if all rumors are true

I would have liked it if we signed Tayshaun Prince and/or Grant Hill

it would allow us to be so flexible with Green in the mix as well

Interesting. Bass has a player option for 2012.

Also, I'm not sure why people think the league is overvaluing Davis. He's a competent player, and probably an upgrade over Bass. This trade is chiefly dictated from contract length demands, in all likelihood.
