Encore was an accident. I meant the Eminem Show. But now that I look at it I'm not going to make myself choose between The Eminem Show and MM LP.  I think MM LP might be a little overrated. Stan was awesome, but there's a huge drop off after that. Both that album and Eminem Show have very good stuff mixed with cartoonishly bad stuff
Marshall Mathers LP was one of the best albums of all time (still holds record for fastest selling I think) but The Slim Shady was his best.  Eminem Show was still nasty, but Encore was really poor compared to the other 3.  After the break, Relapse was weak, but I think Recovery is every bit as good as the old stuff.

Really hard poll for me.  Dre and Em are two of the best.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Out of that list Chronic 2001 hands down.

One of my personal favourites, however:

I still remember seeing this on the shelf in the 90's, and listening to it in the store on those headphones demo's...hehehe

Of those 5 i have to say doggy style.

Considering I was born in 89 that's saying a lot.

The album has its own sound that ages very well.
You're trying to make some people feel old.

Lol, I'm just being honest.

I like to go back and listen to classics and some just aren't as easy to listen to as others.

I'm not saying these are the best rap albums. And I'm all about digging deep. I'm sure there's a bunch of garage bands out there better than the Beatles, but it's tough making a thread about Bodyclock or Nodd Morris.  I love em, but I have to admit they aren't famous. Not saying your guys aren't.  I'm just making a point about threads.

My response to this (and the album choices in general):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YuvpHA7Wg4

I'm with my man Dark Lord though (Wu Tang Clan ain't nuthin to mess with!), but out of these I choose The Chronic, like my homie DOC, no one can do it better.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Dr Dre is an awesome producer, but he's an average rapper. He always has too many featured rappers on his songs to help him out
Thats why I can't vote high for The Chronic or 2001. But "Let me Ride", that is one of my best songs ever lol. Lyrically he's great on that track

I like Eminem on MM LP and Slim Shady, but Snoop just has a better smoother flow. Eminem sounds like a thesaurus sometimes

Out of the 5 albums, its Doggystyle hands down

Doggstyle you can play in any mood.
I love how Snoop can switch rapping styles on the album. He can go from fast and lyrical like on "The Shiznit" or slow and calculated on "Gz and Husltas"
Theres no tracks on there that are skip worthy
And those interludes of the radio show host are too funny haha

I do like the idea behind this thread.  There's a lot of "name the best ever" or "top 5 all time" etc. threads that never really get resolved because everybody has such different tastes and opinions, and you end up with 30 different suggestions for the top spot including several really obscure choices.  I like this though, here's a few albums, let's discuss which one is best out of these select few.  Also I like the common theme of Dr. Dre, because if you love one of these albums, chances are you probably like all of them.  Whereas if you put RUN DMC's Raising Hell vs a Snoop or Dre album vs. a Wu Tang or Biggie album vs a Kanye West or Jay-Z album you get more of the vote based on bias of the voters Old School or New School or East Coast or West Coast taste.  TP for the thread.
