The "Finkle"

** As you can see, I've added a little something new, (late last season) ... the Finkle Prize. It is this game's version of the "Doody", (for those familiar with PAPOUG, the award for last place), and is named in honor of the immortal Ray Finkle, (if you don't know, you'll have to do some digging) ... "Laces out!" (Worth seven TPs each week). Everyone had pretty decent picks, as three were over 400 yards, and only four under 300. As the result of a great suggestion by Roy H., I've changed the rules slightly this year to allow for a fairer pick time, so from now on picks will not be allowed until 10 AM on Tuesday mornings. I've also decreased the TP award amounts a bit to help insure that this remains more about the fun of playing than it is about the Tommy Point rewards, (though I believe the amount still reflects that this is a once-a-week only game, as compared to the other daily Pick-A-Player games). If the rules changes are a problem for anyone, please post your thoughts and we'll kick it around, as I'm always open to improvements/suggestions.

The winning score will receive three times the number of players in TPs, and second place will get 1/2 that amount, rounded up to the nearest whole number. The highest QB Rating will get the same amount as second-place yards, (1/2 the winning amount, rounded up), and second-place QB Rating will get one TP for every player. Also, everyone else will get a TP for playing. One TP paid to SlamTheKing for the win in yards, (thirty-one owed), one TP paid to Roy H. for the very nice second-place score, (sixteen owed), one TP paid to Wdleehi for the highest QB Rating, (sixteen owed), no TPs paid to Roy H. for the sweet runner-up QB Rating, (eleven owed), one TP paid to Redz for the Finkle Prize, (six owed), and a TP to everyone else for playing. The current year-to-date standings will be listed below, along with the Void List ... I'll update the links as needed. Thanks! **

Um, I haven't been able to do last week's yet as my computer has died, (well, despite my high-priced anti-virus suite, I have this antivirus virus that just infected while I was online ... I didn't click on anything or open anything, but now I can't do anything ... I'm trying my last hope now by doing a system restore, but so far it's not letting me do THAT. any program I click on, it identifies it as a virus and it says you have to purchase the registered version to get rid of these programs you use all the time! I can't even open the task manager, as it just reverts to the main page and won't go there ... Clearly it knows I can turn it off from the task manager, and blocks that, too. forgive my lack of some punctuation, I'm actually using my Moms tablet and most of the punctuation is on another page and This crap along with my lack of sleep has me far too annoyed to bother with switching to a different page just for punctuation. it also is too small for me to read, so forgive if I misspell ... I think it is correcting most, but not sure. As far as I know you have gotten the TPs through week four that I posted last night. I still have my old computer, but I'm trying everything I can with this one before I unplug the cables and put them into the old one. this has truly been one of the worst weeks I've had in a very long time, and I've about had it with everything. anyway, blah, blah, blah ... This has been reinitializing now for over 45 minutes ... I'm thinking that's a bad sign that it s not letting me restore even. oh, man. I should have at least the old computer running later, if THAT doesn't go down in flames like everything else has.q Sorry for my very poor humor.

I've hooked up my old computer ... man, I'd forgotten how outdated and slow it was. This is going to be painful, but it's better than nothing , right? Using a tablet to do all this stuff would drive me nutty, (well ... nutti-er).

Folks, here is the info on this virus ... unfortunately I couldn't even get online to get this info to remove it with, but I highly suugest you know this info, because I had McAfee's most complete and up-to-date software suite and even when I scanned the virus file directly, it didn't recognize it as harmful. I'm hoping I may be able to recover it, but I'm doubting it because now it just goes directly into a "This computer can not be repaired automatically - please disconnect all cables, shut down, and contact your computer manufaturer's service department"

It's called Antivirus Security Pro, and it's very bad ... I was going to post the link, but I'm not going to. You can Google it and there is info on how to remove it, how it gets into your PC, etc. - this is very insideous, and they've covered most of tse bases with this one, as I couldn't even get into my Task Manager.

Thanks, Buddy ... I've actually saved my computer, I have lost my personal files and it took all freaking day, but I reverted it to the factory settings, reloaded the initial software and thankfully the hard drive wasn't permanently damaged. Really sucks that I've lost my files, but I put some bucks into this computer, so it's nice that I didn't have to purchase a new one. Trying to focus on the positive things ... got a little sleep early this morning, so that's good, too, but it has taken all day to get this up-and-running. Still not sure how that virus got in, as I hadn't opened or clicked on anything ... read a lot more about it, and it's a pretty nasty, all-encompassing virus. I'm nervous that it may happen again, though I've changed my antivirus software to what I used to have, Bitdefender ... never had a problem with that. McAfee let me down.
