Roy H - Tom Brady, New England Patriots:
KG's Knee - Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos:
Redz - Phillip Rivers, San Diego Chargers:
Wdleehi - Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles:

ThirstyBoots18 - Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons:
Timdawgg - Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals:

** TPs owed from weeks fifteen and sixteen: Roy H. = 67, ThirstyBoots18 = 34, 33-00-32 = 15, Bahku = 14, Timdawgg = 9 ... thanks in advance for your help! As you can see, second through fifth place are separated by only about eighty yards, (TB only twenty-seven yards behind TZT for second place!), and seventh through ninth are very close as well ... it's going to come down to this week's results to decide seeding. Roy will finish in first place by a healthy margin, and will clearly have choice of conference and team in the playoffs. Good luck and Happy Holidays all! **

** Final seeding will be determined tomorrow ... I'll try to get the results up ASAP. If anyone who hasn't been playing for a while wants to better their standing, NOW would be the last chance to do so, (some yards are better than none). Roy H. will have choice of conference and team and the rest is pending, (and very close in some instances). The "Big Board" will be up as soon as the playoff teams are decided and choices made ... please do so as quickly as possible to give the person behind you plenty of time to get their pick in. Thanks, good luck and Happy New Year! **

How are playoffs working this year, Bahku?
I guess it will depend on how many players we get signed on for the post-season. The first year we had ten, (I believe), and gave the first four byes, last year we had ten and gave the first two byes. I'll bump the playoff thread, send some PMs, and get people to confirm/deny so we know what number we're dealing with, but we'll stick to previous rules as much as possible. We've had nine regular players so with an odd number we may have to get creative with the Wild Card Round. YOU will have a first round bye, either way, Roy, so sit back and enjoy! ;)

Hmmm...

Crazy idea for if it does end up at 9 players for the playoffs.

# 1 gets the only bye
#2 'plays' #5
#3 'plays' #4
#'s 6-9 go into a 'pool' with the winner advancing

Leaves 4 teams for the next round

Yup, we'll have to do something similar if we end up with an odd number ... this would work as well as anything, (and I can't imagine any of the top nine NOT wanting to play, or vice-versa for the others). Thanks, KGK. (TP)

2013 PAPTYG Results:

Pick A Player Total Yards Game

_____________________________________________________________________
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Week Seventeen / Game Seventeen

( Thru December 29, 2013 )

Bahku - Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints:  381P + 8R = 389  (157.4)

Timdawgg - Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals:  281P + 23R = 304  (62.2)

ThirstyBoots18 - Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons:  280P - 1R = 279  (95.9)

KG's Knee - Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos:  266P + 0R = 266  (145.9)

Wdleehi - Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles:  263P - 5R = 258  (124.4)

Redz - Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers:  229P + 2R = 231  (104.3)

GreenFaith1819 - Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions:  217P + 0R = 217  (95.2)

33-00-32 - Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Pirates:  179P + 9R = 188  (61.1)

The "Finkle"

Roy H. - Tom Brady, New England Patriots:  122P - 3R = 119  (68.5)

** As you can see, I've added a little something new, (late last season) ... the Finkle Prize. It is this game's version of the "Doody", (for those familiar with PAPOUG, the award for last place), and is named in honor of the immortal Ray Finkle, (if you don't know, you'll have to do some digging) ... "Laces out!" (Worth seven TPs each week). Everyone had pretty decent picks, as three were over 400 yards, and only four under 300. As the result of a great suggestion by Roy H., I've changed the rules slightly this year to allow for a fairer pick time, so from now on picks will not be allowed until 10 AM on Tuesday mornings. I've also decreased the TP award amounts a bit to help insure that this remains more about the fun of playing than it is about the Tommy Point rewards, (though I believe the amount still reflects that this is a once-a-week only game, as compared to the other daily Pick-A-Player games). If the rules changes are a problem for anyone, please post your thoughts and we'll kick it around, as I'm always open to improvements/suggestions.

The winning score will receive three times the number of players in TPs, and second place will get 1/2 that amount, rounded up to the nearest whole number. The highest QB Rating will get the same amount as second-place yards, (1/2 the winning amount, rounded up), and second-place QB Rating will get one TP for every player. Also, everyone else will get a TP for playing. No TPs paid to Bahku for the win in yards, (twenty-seven owed), one TP paid to Timdawgg for the very nice second-place score, (thirteen owed), no TPs paid to Bahku for the highest QB Rating, (fourteen owed), one TP paid to KG's Knee for the sweet runner-up QB Rating, (eight owed), one TP paid to Roy H. for the Finkle Prize, (six owed), and a TP to everyone else for playing. The current year-to-date standings will be listed below, along with the Void List ... I'll update the links as needed. Thanks! **
