So I guess JR Smith posted a photo of his girlfriend's huge behind on twitter and joked about it so naturally he's getting fined.

I don't know where to start or end on this one.

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/03/28/new-york-city-schools-ban-loaded-words-from-tests/?hpt=hp_c3

If I understand right there's about 50 words NY schools don't want on the city's standardized tests, because these are "loaded terms".

For example "dinosaur" may evoke negative emotions because it may upset creationists who believe dinos and humans shared the Earth 6000 years ago.

I don't know. Seems over the top, but what do I know?

Actually I'm not reading this, but if I see it lying around I might skim some pages.

I guess Shaq says Lebron never listened to Mike Brown....surprise surprise

I need a sleepytime tea or something. I'm about to get a little too frisky for 10:15AM on a Tuesday.

Slaughter House Five is the best novel on that list, but it may not be as good a Sci-Fi story if that makes sense.

Thought the same thing about Animal Farm.

Absolutely fascinating story about the Internet-driven persecution of a successful Korean rapper.  A bit long, but a striking example of the intersection of Internet anonymity, Korean culture, populism, and the persistence of conspiracy beliefs.  Some very strong parallels to the Obama birth certificate thing we see over here, too.  Well worth a read when you've got a few minutes.

EDIT:  Great quote -

Quote
When Lee walked in, he looked crazed. He was no longer a cocky hip hop star. His hair was a bushy mess. Fidgeting with an unlit cigarette, his eyes darted nervously around the room. People in the lobby were looking at him. I asked how he was feeling.

"They're saying I'm not me, and I can't convince them I am," he mumbled. "It's like I'm living in a Kafka novel."

I read it, and it blew my mind.
