just wondering how this would work.  If there's a lockout, can the NBA release a game with the likenesses of players in it?

Hmm, good question.  I think the NBA and the NBAPA give their consent separately, so they may be able to do it still.  Really, though, I have no idea.

I don't know the answer but I'm going to guess the actual player names and likenesses can be used in the video games.  I'm basing this on the fact that the invidual NBA team websites took down all player images the day the lockout started. But it was widely reported that this was not a mandatory action that was legally motivated.  It was simply a statement being made by the owners.

You need to use #34 Fatback Johnson in cases were you aren't licensed by the league.

I have an important question that I figure I'll ask here before I contact my season ticket rep....

What happens with my season tickets if there's a lockout???  Refund?  Any sympathetic gestures like a discount for next season or refund of fees?  They can't force me to carry it over to the next season, right?

They sent out an email about this a couple weeks ago.  If any games are missed, you will have a choice of having the money carrying over, and you will collect "above market rate interest" on your account, or you can get a refund on the missed games "plus interest at the prevailing rate (as determined by the NBA."

I have a feeling they will also make other efforts to keep season ticket holders once they know what the deal is too.  But they don't seem to have any details beyond what was in that email.
