  Bird & McHale.

I still wonder today how any team could have guarded a pair of forwards that were that great and that versatile.  Come to think of it, during their primes no one could.

an underrated duo but a duo in the true sense: Isaiah and Dumars.

for pure watchability: Rick Mahorn and Jeff Ruland.  These Bullets caused more physical damage than real Bullets.  The bad boys before Detroit knew what that really meant.

from a C's perspective, I have to go with Toine and PP as the most prominent duo in the C's history.  Not the greatest individuals or the members of the greatest teams but these two were really the C's 1-2 punch back in the day.

I think Stockton and Malone.  Minus the mailman's foray into LaLa land late in his career, they basically only played with each other and it was like poetry in motion watching them play together

Russell...Cousy

beat ya

I'd be tempted to say Russell / Jones, which kind of emphasizes tboots' point:  the Celts have always been team-oriented, rather than based upon strong duos.  Except, of course, for these guys:

best one two punch in the history of the nba....

Alex English was one of my favorite players!  I thought he was pure class.  I saw "Amazing Grace and Chuck" four times and was convinced he was going to be the next Sidney Poitier  ;D .  I remember the name, Fat Lever, but really don't remember anything else about him! My ignorance (and shallowness)  has been uncovered!  Clueless in Clearwater.  ha ha ha
