Reading the "Wade v. Pippin" thread made me wonder who was the best/most effective duo in basketball...Jordon/Pippin, Malone/Stocton, LeBron/Wade, Duncan/Robinson, etc.  I really couldn't come up with a Celtics tandem, the Celtics have always seemed more of a complete team than that to me (Lakers, too. What do you think?

Pizza and beer? Chips and dip? BarcaLounger and remote? Season Tickets and limo service? (Yes!) ;)

But seriously ...

Have to go with Jordan/Pippin, though my heart goes with Bird/McHale, Magic/Kareem, Russell/Cousy and on from there.

I kind of lean toward Malone/Stocton, because they were the smoothest, most fun to watch duo (and probably had a less stellar supporting cast, than the others.  Oponents knew Stockton to Malone was the only choice, but they still couldn't do anything about it.

When it came to fan entertainment and having fun with the game while playing with a coach who had no real offensive sets other than jack threes and play Defense. It has to be....

Pierce and Walker

I'd be tempted to say Russell / Jones, which kind of emphasizes tboots' point:  the Celts have always been team-oriented, rather than based upon strong duos.  Except, of course, for these guys:

Great list so far.
I'd add Shaq-Kobe.
Even though there were personal issues, that was a very effective combo.
Celtics fan for life.

Yeah, don't know how I didn't think of them, either ... they wouldn't be at the top of my list, but very close.

I thought of another, if you lean towrd "big men"...Ralph Samson/Hakeem Olajuwon, Dallas' "Twin "Towers"...their combined effort was brief, but brilliant.
