He said the C's really like this kid on comcast sports tonight and if he drops he will likely be the c's pick. I don't know much about him, but spears said he was hitting every shot he took in workouts and I have also heard comparisons to jamal crawford.

He could be just what this team needs as instant offense off the bench without using the mle to fill that role.

But then again he will likely be gone by # 25

So we can scratch Tyler and now Brooks off the list....

I saw some mock drafts have him going at #15 to Indiana.

Yeah, I think he'll be off the board by then too. Unfortunately.

Brooks reminds me of Adam Morrison, not Jamaal Crawford. He'll have a tough time getting his shot off in the NBA. And he's already a very inefficient scorer.

Positives: Has offensive skills to similar Kobe Bryant
Negatives: Reminds me of Kobe Bryant

I think this is good news.  I think he's a very intriguing option in our range.  I think Reggie Jackson's a great option too.

The way I see it:

Positives: he believes he has the scoring skills of Kobe Bryant (I wouldn't include passing... I don't think Brooks understands that concept at all)
Negatives: he's dramatically wrong

He does have Kobe Bryant's shot-selection though.

Hollinger:

Quote
Guards who don't make the cut
Probably the most suspect candidate, according to Draft Rater, is Marshon Brooks; his 7.88 rating was 27th among perimeter players. The Providence guard put up huge stats, but his average is hugely padded by two factors: First, the Friars played the fastest pace of any major Division I team; second, Brooks played nearly every minute of every game, averaging 36.5 per game -- remember, they play only 40 in college. Let all the air out and his numbers look a lot more ordinary -- his usage rate, which is his most alluring stat, ranks only ninth among prospects. Given his age (22 and five months) and his relative inefficiency, I'm not sure there's a ton to see here. Draft Rater sees him as a second rounder.
