Just reported on ESPN. It may be worth it for Williams. Nash is old.

It is just a rumour

ESPN saying that the talks never got beyond the initial stages.

------------------------------------------

Quote
The Phoenix Suns' general posture has been to rebuff trade inquiries for star guard Steve Nash, but the Suns have had discussions this month with the Minnesota Timberwolves about a deal to send Nash to Minnesota in a package for the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday's draft, according to sources briefed on the talks.

The talks, though, haven't advanced beyond the exploratory stage because of what sources described as a "mutual conclusion" by both teams that such a deal would ultimately not work for the Wolves because of Nash's presumed desire to land with an established title contender if he finally leaves the Suns.

Heck if there was a way of getting the number 2 pick without giving up pierce KG or rondo I am all for it. I think that Derrick Williams is gunna be a stud. Imagine if Pierce could work with him.

What an idiot. Why would they even discuss this? The last things the wolves need is a) another point guard and b) one that is 37 years old. Terrible for the Wolves and terrible for Nash as well.

Wolves are leaking EVERYTHING.  I seriously think every phone call they make, someone tells a reporter about.  This is getting a little old.

Nash has a lot of value, perhaps the thought was to do a 3 team trade, but a third team never materialized.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Makes sense in order to groom Rubio behind Nash. Puts less pressure on Rubio and allows him the opportunity to learn from Nash.

Yeah, I think that was the goal.  I think they are determined to get some veterans in there to help change the culture of the team.  While Nash isn't a perfect fit, I think he would absolutely provide that, which could be incredibly valuable in the development of Rubio, as well as guys like Love and Johnson, who need to learn how to win.

if phoenix included robin lopez in the trade it would make more sense to me.

They would have nash to mentor rubio and lead a talented but young team, and robin to split time with darko at center.

Nash, Rubio
Johnson, tolliver
Beasly, webster
Love, randolph
Darko, Lopez

definetly an interesteing team
Mavs
Wiz
