The reality is Shaq did the exact same thing as Lebron and Shaq left a better team behind with a better management structure.  But as with all things, it is ok for others, but not for Lebron.  Shaq switches teams no problem.  MJ misses or passes a final shot no problem.  Lebron does it problem.  Take your dislike of Lebron out of the equation as that is the only way you can see things clearly.

You're asking a lot.  Your premise is also flawed.  Shaq didn't hold his old team hostage while making a complete narcissistic jackass of himself announcing where he was taking his talents.

The only thing Shaq didn't do is be a jerk about switching.
Plus he actually won after a while and didn't switch to a ready made all-star team that he resorted to tampering to make

So another difference is you gave Shaq time but James have to win right away.
How much time do you think it would take Shaq in his prime to win with Bosh and D Wade? We know how long it took because he did it past his prime with one of them.

They accomplished similar things with similar talent in their first stop. Let's see if Lebron gets as many rings as Shaq did.

It took Shaq 2 years to win with Wade and that was also including a major roster overhaul by Pat Riley.

That's a very good point, but I don't think there's ever been a roster overhaul like the one Lebron and his buddies pulled off

Let's also not forget the conference the Heat had to "go through" to get to the finals and the two teams that they defeated in East playoffs.  Carter/Jefferson/Kid was a real solid trio, but you're talking about covering Shaq with Kristic/Collins.  Just no chance.

Also, the Heat had 7 people back from the 09-10 team in 10-11 (Wade, Haslem, Anthony, Chalmers, Jones, Magloire, and Arroyo).  I don't think it was as much roster turnover as you seem to think.

Boston only had 6 people back from the 06-07 team in 07-08 (Pierce, Rondo, Perkins, T. Allen, Powe, and Scalabrine).

And Tony, Powe, and Scal didn't play all that much. 8th, 10th, and 11th in minutes played for that squad in the regular season respectively.

well it isn't like Jones, Magloire, and Arroyo were exactly minute eaters, but Wade, Chalmers, and Anthony started and Haslem might as well have been a starter (until he got hurt).

Sure Miami and Boston went about it in different manners, but the only real difference in the end result was one team won the championship and the other finished 2 games away.
