When I missed 12 straight lay-ups with my left hand (I'm a righty) in junior high school and then quitting in practice because I had a headache.  Oh well, at least I had a couple years thinking I had a shot.  ;D

seeing as how I have no talent at all I figure I'll be a top 5 pick in this draft and get traded for Avery Bradley

HA!

Avery Bradley would definitely been a top 5 pick this year. Probably top 3

I'm still praying.

I consider my absolute ceiling as a basketball player to be Jeff Foster, although I'd be gassed if I ever became half that good.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

And that's why I fully expect to be drafted this year.  I can do everything he can for a lot less money, and I'd be appreciative for the opportunity to be a horrid horrid nba guard.

well that's how I feel about it anyway.

At 42 years old, 5'9", 230, with very little foot speed and not much in the way of ups, I'm still waiting for my big break.

When I was about 11 or 12 my dad told me I had to be realistic and know that there was a 1 in a million chance I'd make it...  Then I cried and my mom told me that my dad was wrong and I had a 50% chance of making it - either I do or I don't.  I regained faith for a few more years.  I highly recommend any parents to use the 50% line on their kids if you want them to keep their dreams alive

When my Junior High coach wouldn't put me in a game until we were down at least 35 points. For the record I got to play every game.

I tried to reason with the coach and tell him that it wasn't me causing the 35 point deficits and that he needed to shake the line-up just a bit.

Of course I was the Scalabrine of those 1993 Michie Blue Devils. An overweight redheaded guy that couldn't play.

over??  ???

hey, the nba is going through a lock out...if that drags on long enough the owners will be more than happy to pay a middle-aged, "stocky", 5'8" guy a chance to play.

going out now to buy some good shoes. :)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
