That crap was as close to being in without actually going through.  Basketball gods were not in our favor.

I was already out of my seat before it bounced back out.

No, they definitely were not. Forget the lay up, what about the absolutely ridiculous 3s from James and Wade, which really has no business going in, 10% shots at best.

And in Red's house too, ugh.
Well, they both missed similar 3's earlier in the game.

I'm not sure where you get 10% from because they both hit those shots at more than 10%.

Then what is their percentage on contested 3s?  20%?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • Let's Go Celtics!
How about the ridicoulus ones he made in the first half? when he shouldnt realisticly be playing at all?
KG not showing up?
Ray barely showing up?
Paul pierce missing the buzzer beater, bc the last play wasnt executed? (KG)
Glen davis missing in action..
shaq bringing nothing?
Lebron hitting toughest clutch shots of his career?
Bosh coming  up big when it mattered most?

...waah @ the missed layup

Don't you know, when things go wrong the board-approved scapegoats are Rondo, Davis, and Green?

Rondo's layup ... he probably hits that shot 9 times out of 10.

Lebron's 3 ... he probably misses that shot (contested, shot clock winding down) about 9 times out of 10.

It was a 1 in a 100 combo.  It's bound to happen sometimes, it is just unfortunate it happened in such a critical situation.

TP. Agreed.

Let's not forget Doc Rivers.

I can't wait for next year when Kevin McHale is coaching this team and people are clamoring for the return of the gold ole days with Doc Rivers.

As others have said -- it's basketball.  Obviously, it is frustrating to lose a game that could have been won, but if we had pulled it out, Miami fans would going over plays they could have made -- for instance, the wide open pass to Joel Anthony undernesath that went right through his hands.

We lost that game for many reason. But Rondo missing that shot wasn't the main one. That kid showed Larry Bird sized heart in game 3-4. I won't talk bad about him at all in this years playoffs.

i love when people start getting defiant.

The fact is, it was a wide open layup that was missed. Then Lebron comes down, travels and scores the go ahead layup

and it wasnt a shot early in the game, it was with less than 1:30 left on the clock.

Say what you want, but it was just as crucial of a miss as the Lebron 3 was.

Im not blaming Rondo for the miss. Im just saying we needed that badly. He needed to make that shot for us or our chances would drastically go down. It sucked.

If I recall Paul had a good drive to the rim and should've taken a shot. But he passed it down low to Rondo who only had one arm and it was a turn over. That play could've cost us just as much as the layup.

you would take that open layup look 100% over any other shot, pass or possible turnover

ITS A LAYUP, and one that any player in the NBA makes 19 out 20 times.

It's basketball.

Even if he wasn't hurt, he'd probably miss that layup.

He was going too fast and the ball just rimmed out.

Such nonsense. He missed the layup because he was forced to take it with his wrong hand, a result of a dirty play by Dwyane Wade that somehow didn't result in a deserved flagrant foul or suspension. Meanwhile, JO gets another ticky-tack Celtics flagrant foul that results in yet another Heat five-point possession. And the game goes to overtime, so without that bias, the Cs win Game 4.

And that's without mentioning Bibby tackling Big Baby from behind, a textbook clear-path foul that also wasn't given to the Cs.

Got cut Rondo some slack , not often do you see heart and committment like he has shown. Most guys wouldn't evn try to play.

Shame he doesn't work on his shooting skills .If he could just become an OK to average shooter would really help , but being a brick layer is hurting the offense way to much in certain matchups .

Well, it was the 1 time out of 20 that it didn't go in. And I don't think if we won game 4 that it matter much. Boston just looks too old right now.
