Karate Kid . . . refuse to see the new one.

You're missing out. I didn't feel at all like they were trying to "remake" the original. It seemed more like a similar story than a copy. If you like Jackie Chan then you're missing out on one of his better roles. Not a bad show.

Just saw DL's post which was basically exactly what I thought. Sorry for the duplication of thought. TP to you DL.

If a remake is shot in a location with palm trees, does that make it even worse?
Still don't believe in Joe.

Usually.  But not always. Magnificent 7 mighta had a palm tree and nobody is too far off for calling it a remake

Since nobody can own history I'd be good with a remake of Lawrence of Arabia. Maybe this time Lawrence could be 5ft 3 like in real life

Willy Wonka with Johnny Depp.  Remake.

Willy Wonka with Johnny Depp >>>> the original (we've watched both a lot in our house).  One of the few movies that REALLY benefits from improved CGI.  I liked Wonka's character getting a backstory, even though it wasn't original.

Maybe they could make a "Passion Of The Christ" remake, but with a dwarf cast as Jesus, to be historically accurate ;)

Seriously though, my grandmother (well really my step-grandfather) owned and authentically re-created full set of armor made to scale from the 12th century, and it was absolutely unreal how small people were than. By the time I was 14 I would've been a giant.
