What an exhilarating game and win. Pierce and Ray down the stretch were amazing.

But.... this team needs to correct a lot of problems going forward. Shaq will help, but he isn't the end all, be all. We can't rely on him coming back anyway. After all, he is a vet min guy. If the championship relies on a 39-year-old veteran minimum guy, they we have to question the GM.

This team has all the tools to win it all. But they need to fix a lot of problems. It starts at the 1 with Rondo, and ends with the bench. I fully expect Green to come back strong, and take Delonte with him.

Great win because we could have been in a hole going forward. Some players on the Knicks overachieved (Stat, Turiaf, Douglas) while others underachieved (Melo). Same with us. But we have been struggling for a few weeks now. We are the one's with championship aspirations. We are the one's with something to prove.

And for all our boneheaded plays, there were those flashes of brilliance.

Unbelievable how many times Rondo tried losing this game for the C's tonight, but his teammates had too much will to let that happen.

Whoops. Sorry. I didn't mean to quote you. I'm not sure how to erase the quote. Take no offense, not directed at you...

KG must learn to just lay in/finger-roll the ball in some cases. He's been missing easy 2s because he forces to slam it down to posterize his defender. Unfortunately, his defender is much quicker in poking/blocking the ball from him. His slam attempts are about a half second slower than just by laying the ball in - especially when his man is by his side or at his back.

KungPowe - you're right...Rondo did have some uncharacteristically bad plays...I hope he gets himself together by tuesday, because he's still not the Rondo I'm used to seeing.

The plus, though, with him tonight is that he was in fact nailing that jumper. His motor seemed to be better, too for the most part.

It's just those 3 or 4 long, errant passes that didn't seem like him.

Just watching the game now, and I'm encouraged by a few things. Firstly, we really didn't play very well, and yet we still pulled out the victory. We had moments where we dug in when we needed to, but overall it wasn't one of our best performances, yet still the win over a Knicks team that was playing very good ball.

There's also no denying that Jermaine has "flipped the switch" ... he was extremely effective at both ends of the court, and if he stays healthy and this active, this team is going to be very formidable in the post-season. (I love what he said about the Boston fans, too, after the game).

They call Chauncey "Mr. Big Shot", but to me, (and in this game especially), that is a title more fitting for Ray Allen. I mean, this guy is amazing ... it doesn't matter if he's hot or cold, or if he's been in a slump, he can still come up with a clutch game-winner when it's needed.

The biggest impression for me tonight was that, despite not playing our best, we out-hustled a younger, more athletic team ... we got to the loose balls, made the blocks, went to the floor, took the charges, and even got a fair amount of offensive rebounds! Even if a team is not shooting well, if it out-hustles it's opponent, it has a great chance of stealing a win.

I really thought this one was slipping away around the six minute mark, but we really dug down deep and turned it on, and did what we needed to secure this win. A lot of positive energy from this team tonight, and that to me is what made the difference ... along with JO and a clutch Ray-Tres.

Very nice save and win ... now let's close up the gaps and secure Game 2. Go Celtics!! :)

great win. loving the excuses the knicks fans tried. regardless of anything. they lost a 12 point lead, plus the prize player in their trade is unclutch in critical moments. thats who they should blame...not officiating. lame cop out here.

but I am really happy with this win. hopefully some of our players step it up next game....yall know who I am talking of. but great game for JO. good game to step it up.
