Mike Vrabel arrested today for Felony Theft in a casino in Indiana ... no details yet on what was stolen, but it's a Class D Felony. Story is here.

Crime will go up if there's no NFL season?  I never really liked Ray Lewis and I still don't like him now.

If that's the case, the Bengals are screwed!

I definitely hope the Pats seek a meeting/workout with Plaxico Burress

As a Patriots fan, I have a feeling the next week is going to be very frustrating.  We are going to see things go absolutely nuts with free agents/trades/etc., and I have a feeling the Pats will be sitting on the sidelines other than some very minor signings.

Of course, its probably going to be the prudent move for them, as a team that is already pretty loaded...but it will definitely be frustrating.

Yup ... August will be a tough month for Pats fans, watching management sit on their hands while other teams make big moves, but as you said, it's probably for the best. Can't wait for September, and I'm hoping this will be incentive or at least a good example set to end the lockout in the NBA, (yeah, right ... wishful thinking).

At least there will be an NFL season.  The winter would've been brutal without football or basketball (I don't follow hockey).

Hopefully the NBA can get together, but I've always had much bigger doubts with them than the NFL.  Let's face it, no one in the NFL was ever really losing money, so they had a lot to lose.  The NBA on the other hand, there are teams losing money.  They do have motivation to see this out.

As for the Pats, I'm hopeful.  As devastated as I was to see them lose to the Jets last year, we knew all along that they weren't as good as they seemed due to their youth.  This year, not even looking at their rookies and any potential FA signings, they have another year under their belts which should do a world of good for guys like Cunningham, Spikes, McCourty, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and (hopefully) Tate.

I also wouldn't overlook the return of Leigh Bodden.  Pairing him with McCourty (not to mention Dowling) and they could have one of the better secondaries in the NFL.

Now if they can only get a pass rusher and a deep threat...

Cunningham has to be the guy to watch in camp.  He is really their only hope on the current roster to break out as a legit edge passrusher.  I am curious to see the rookies, and some of the other guys they will bring in, but Cunningham will be my reason for watching the preseason.

Yep...unless they nab someone on the FA market, which I think is possible.

And Brandon Tate is Cunningham's offensive equivalent, only we've been waiting on him longer.

People can bash Moss all they want, but his ability to extend really helped us.  Had we had someone to do that, the Jets wouldn't have been able to compact the field on us like they did in our playoff loss.

If Tate can become a consistent deep threat, this offense will truly be unstoppable.

Don't know if there is a Pats thread season thread up yet (either that or I can't find it), but news of the day from the Pats is that they're releasing Tully Banta-Cain.

The New York Jets addressed the No. 1 item on their free-agent list, coming to terms Wednesday morning with wide receiver Santonio Holmes, according to a league source.

For those of us who abosultely love this FA frenzy, i suggest refreshing this article every so often.

Nnamdi Asomugha apparently garnering interest from SF.  Whatever it takes to keep him out of the AFC East! If you think about it it's not that far fetched. He's well known for some of his philanthropic efforts in the bay area and making the hop to SF wouldn't really affect any of those connections.  Interesting stuff...

Vince Young signs a one year deal with the Eagles.
Very interesting.
I think the Eagles have done really well so far this offseason (they  just need to pay Desean Jackson).
Celtics fan for life.
