The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is finally over.

The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

Anthony was not at the Nuggets' practice as the team resumed workouts following the All-Star break.

A source said the Knicks will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal.

Finally!!! Now the dominoes start to fall and there will be a lot of action before the deadline.

I think most folks were waiting for this to be resolved to better see the landscape and make moves accordingly.

Denver hit the jackpot.

This. Especially considering the situation they were in.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Good God, the Knicks are dumb.  First time I can remember a team getting one hundred and fifty cents on the dollar for their star player that they had to trade anyway.  Why not just wait for the summer and give him a max deal?

:o
Why are you shocked? Carmelo wasn't going to NJ..no way. This is the best possible outcome for Denver. They get good players, picks and cash. Pretty good deal for Denver, imo.

I'm willing to bet that it will be nearly another 24 hours before the trade is officially official.

Denver will probably try to bring in another team to reroute some of the former Knicks, in exchange for players they really want.

Jersey? Dallas? Atlanta (boy, could they use Felton)?

Could end up being a four- or five-team deal.

Hot [dang] that would be awesome, although extremely unlikely.

That is what I'm expecting and hoping for our sake with getting a 3.

  • Yup
Renaldo Balkman Return Night will clearly overshadow Melo's MSG debut.

The Knicks sure threw in a lot of extra parts.  Sort of feel bad for Felton.  He seemed to be flourishing in NY.
