We need another right handed bat to balance out are now incredible lineup, in theory it could stretch his career out longer, I go to six years and 200 million. And we win every year for the next four years.

 Ellsbury
 Pedroia
 Crawford
 Pujols
 A-Gone
 Youkilis
 Nancy Drew
 Lowrie
 Salty

One through six is about as good as you can ask for.

Only if Albert is healthy would you do it.

I doubt it, he'll want to stay in the field.

I also don't think he's interested in just a 6 year deal , otherwise the Cardinals would have offered him one like you outline.

no way in heck would he DH for much less money and less years.  This guy wants $300 million and nothing less.

If I'm St. Louis I let him walk instead of have his 10-year contract.

Supposedly St Louis is balking at the length of the contract. Will another team actually offer ten years? I doubt it.

Why would you DH such a good defensive 1st baseman?

Years-wise?  I could see it.  I wouldn't be shocked if a small market team tried to make a splash here.  Any team who picks up Pujuls will get a huge injection of interest.

With the money he's looking for?  No way.

Because you already just picked up a Gold Glove 1B.

I doubt he will settle for less than 25/year. Cards offered 30 for five.

Imagine him in our lineup. If pitching could stay consistent that would be a powerhouse team

I think the Cards will eventually give in and give him the contract.  They almost have to.  If you lose him in free agency, the fan base will basically riot.
do it

I would pay him whatever to play in Boston.

Pujols is the great hitter in the game today and possibly the greatest player ever when it's all said and done.

Play him at first, DH, LF/RF, where ever as long as you get his bat in the lineup.

He's not getting a $300M/10yr from anyone. The two teams who could conceivably overspend for him are obviously the Yanks and BoSox, but both have expensive, All-Star, Gold Glove 1B already.

I doubt Pujols would play the outfield, and he's definitely not coming to the AL to DH.

Where can he really go besides staying in St. Louis? Could the Mets afford him? Letting Reyes go and maybe dumping Wright may do it, but still they are a mess from the ownership down. They are probably gonna settle on Fielder for half the contract Pujols will get.

Dodgers are in the same boat. Big market, screwed up ownership. If it was a few years ago or a few years from now, maybe. But not with the state of that team as it stands right now.

The Giants? I doubt it, but they could make a play.

There is absolutely no way the Cards let him go to the Cubs, so  maybe the Cubs drive up the price but that's it.

Come February, Pujols will still be a Cardinal. I say something like a $225M/8Yr deal gets it done.

that's ridiculous money for a DH but please go right ahead and sign him if you can.  As a Brewer fan, getting him out of St Louis and out of the NL would suit me fine.

We're going to have enough trouble keeping Fielder and no, I don't think he'd look good in Fenway (not just because I want to keep him but because he's a left-handed hitter)

No way the Cardinal fan base riots if Pujols walks. We may indeed drink cyanide, but certainly not riot.
