Beautiful day here (Clearwater, FL) now.  While we dodged a bullet with this hurricane some have been hit hard.  Prayers go out to those on the east coast who are dealing with devastating flooding.

Heya! Time to Bump this thread.
We are living in Virginia for the year, and the snow is coming down hard!
We've stocked up on food, and I'm hoping for some good sledding tomorrow...
Celtics fan for life.

If only the snow would stay on the mountains, Grover.  It is cool in Florida now...about 56 here now.  I didn't think that was cold when I moved to FL 20 years ago; now, however, I am one of those little old ladies that I used to laugh at, with winter coat and wool hat .

In Long Island we got a travel ban that just went into effect. Already 15 inches of snow with no sign of slowing down.

It is mostly missing us in southern New England. It just started a few hours ago and we have about an inch or two but slowing down already.

How is the spring treating you all up in the frigid North? Here in the tropics I woke up to a heavy fog, layered up for it, now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to carry all this extra weight home now that it's turned out to be a bright sunny African day :-(

As a skier who lives in Vermont this year blows!! I can see grass on 25% of my land, the biggest storm I got this year was 3"  :'(. Worse part is I have yearly contracts for all my properties which last year saved me but this year I'm throwing out about $50,000+ for snow removal.

Nick, one of these days we really have to take the time to meet for coffee.  Have you ever been to Mazzaro's on 23rd St. in St. Pete?  Really worth a take in (with or without me, LOL).

Check out the #nairobifloods hash tag on twitter. Poor sods have to swim through flooded streets in spite of the millions supposedly spent on drainage and flood defenses

https://twitter.com/hashtag/nairobifloods

Thankfully the local county government in my home town have a 200 foot gorge to soak up the seasonal and entirely predictable long rains, to cover their lazy bums

I'm from Old Ellicott City, MD, just outside of Baltimore. My parents still live in the same apartment on a small historic road. Unfortunately, the town was ravaged by a flood/storm and has destroyed nearly every business. Numerous cars were washed down the street with passengers inside. There injuries and a few lives have been lost.

http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2016/08/01/old-ellicott-city-faces-long-recovery-after-flooding/

I moved to California 8 days ago. It's been difficult to contact my parents (both in their sixties) and it could be months before residents can return to their homes & businesses.

If any poster on this board is in the Baltimore area and can extend any sort of help to this community - there are hundreds of people that need help in the town where I was born - if anyone can or wants to help, please send me a PM. Even if its a quick prayer, my hometown could use it.
