NYC: fat flakes falling outside my window, not bitterly cold the way it was earlier in the week/weekend, quite nice actually.

I live close to where I work in NYC, so commuting is no problem at all, nor is getting to the grocery store, or restaurants, etc.

For those that are sick of New England/ Northeast winters, but love everything else about the area, I suggest you move to the center of a city instead of moving completely out of the area.

It has been snowing all day where I live, and my college classes keep getting canceled, which is sort of good and bad.

After last night's storm, another blast from the north, cold front moving in.  61 degrees and breezy...beautiful sunny day.

I was just cruising the web and saw a picture of a Baptist Church...posted on the announcement board was

"To whoever is praying for snow.....Please stop!"

Lots of people down here are stranded, their visits extended.  Airports are closed and flights are cancelled.  The planes can't get out of Florida because there is no place they can safely go.  Everyone together......Awwwwwww

Hope you all stay safe, don't lose power, and, if you have to go out...be careful and keep warm!

Yeah if you're north of the Mass Pike (I-90) you're getting slammed with snow tomorrow, 18-24 inches.  South of the Pike will be an ice storm with a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain.  Choose your poison.

This is from a stroll I took on Sunday here in Boston:

Travelling down the neatly
deeply shoveled pathways
like mice in a maze
thinking as long as
we can see
over the snowbanks
we are free
'till the next storm arrives
in a few days

I gotta say, my wife and I now live in NYC, but we lived in CALI for 5 years and it was awesome ( except for the traffic and long flights back to Boston).

Just had the evening commute from hell here in Chicago.

White out conditions, 40+ mph winds, and a couple inches an hour that is expected to escalate. Supposedly the waves on Lake Michigan are expected to get up to 25 feet. There is thunder & lightening going on right now in the middle of a snowstorm! Its bad, I mean real bad out there right now.  No joke.

They actually shut down Lake Shore Drive.  Unfortunately they didn't do that until after I was stuck on a bus in traffic on it.   :P

Wow ... doesn't sound like much fun at all ... we've got some on the way, (Maine). Glad you made it home safely in time for the game! ;)
