Hello and welcome to the CelticsBlog Heat Index, where we keep you updated with stories and statistics on the greatest team ever to currently be wearing Miami Heat jerseys.  Let's get right to it!

Quick Heats - a Day to Day glance at Miami's historic year

As of November 28th:

The Heat are currently the best    9-8    team in the NBA.

Erik Spoelstra is currently    laughing off  widespread rumors that Pat Riley will fire him and take his job any day now.

LeBron is currently    murdering    his legacy.

Dwyane Wade is currently    pondering the phrase "be careful what you wish for"   .

Chris Bosh is currently    invisible   .

The Chase for 48

As you know, some observers believe Miami has a chance to make history by winning more games than the 09-10 Miami Heat.  Here is where we keep track of their epic struggle to win almost 60% of their games.

Through 17 games:

10-11 Heat:  9-8
09-10 Heat:  10-7

As you can see the current Heat have fallen a little off last year's torrid pace - but there's still a long way to go!

That's all the time we have for today's CelticsBlog Heat Watch.  Feel free to provide updates and contributions of your own!

Haha.  Great thread.  TP.

The scary thing:  of the ten topics currently in the Latest Forum Topics menu, four of them are about the Heat.  Two are off-topic threads, and four are Celtics threads.

Yeah it felt a little like piling on but I liked the idea too much not to run with it.  People tend to post more about the Celtics when they're doing badly, so I'm OK with a lot of non-C's threads for now.

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

TP to fairweatherfan

Right now I'm watching LeBron James' first ever NBA game on NBA TV. Accroding to the Miami's regular-season record it looks like 'The Grinch' is just that much closer to 'stealing Christmas' this year:

^lol, Kobe Bryant always looks like he just got back from going to Disney World...

::cries::

...I had an 'Imperial Steak' last night at Benihana. It makes some of the pain of the conclusion of last season go away.

Apparently Spoelstra is "too tough" on them and his hurting the Heat's players feelings  ;D.

Wow, the tone of this quote:

Quote
"He's jumping on them," one source said. "If anything, he's been too tough on them. Everybody knows LeBron is playful and likes to joke around, but Spoelstra told him in front of the whole team that he has to get more serious. The players couldn't believe it. They feel like Spoelstra's not letting them be themselves."

sounds eerily like the source from the Wafer-West fight a few weeks back.  Looks like LeBron's camp may be airing his grievances through the media.
