(Noob question) Who are the Sox' biggest foes/friends?

I'm trying to keep up with baseball a little, but it is hard here in Europe. I love everything about Boston, and I'm also reppin' Beantown in Berlin with my on-field Red Sox hat!

So now my brother wants to get himself an on-field hat, too, but either of the biggest foes of the C's (not named Dodgers or Yankees), or the closest and most likable team to the Sox.

So I would really appreciate if you could please list me the Top 3 of each category.

And I promise to keep up with the Sox/MLB much more next season!

True, but oddly that not that much since the Rays became a viable contender.

Right, but I think they have still been considered a rival.  Especially since they are a contender now and we've had a lot of tight games, and tight series with them.  Once they knocked us out of the playoffs 3 years ago, I think they've been right below the Yankees in terms of foes.  In terms of friends of the Red Sox.  I don't think we really have any.  I think what a lot of people do is just pick a national league team to cheer for since they probably will not have to play the Red Sox.

National League team.  No real history with the Sox.  Fanbase is much like Red Sox fans pre '04.  Great ballpark.
