Breaking: Hornets, Rockets, Pacers & Nets working on 4 team deal. Ariza to NO. C. Lee to HOU. Collison & Posey to IND. Murphy to NJ.

Good deal for all teams except Houston don't really like the deal for them.   Surprised that Houston is getting rid of Ariza and keeping Battier over him.

Wow.

I like the deals for the Nets and Hornets.

Indiana would get the PG they need, but trading Murphy and getting Posey in return does not seem like a good return.

Is Houston really trading a starting SF for Kevin Martin's backup?

I'm surprised that IND took on an extra year of salary but to get a good young PG it must have been worth it

this trade seems to be a whole lot of nothing.  I guess I like it for Indiana and am pretty ambivalent about the rest. For Indiana they finally get the PG they have been desperate for since they found out TJ Ford is well...TJ Ford.

So much for Houston being our trade partner in getting a wing for us.  Even though we'd have nothing to offer them with Sheed being waived now anyways.  Really don't know why Houston is doing this deal it is not a good one for them.  Ariza is their best wing I'd get rid of Battier over him definitely.

Horrific trade for New Orleans and Houston and New Jersey.

Excellent deal for Indiana.

Agreed, New Orleans is trying to get players to play around Paul but taking on long term contracts and sending away their best young player without getting more in return makes no sense.

I think it's a win for everyone except for Houston unless they get a pick.

Agreed, but NO is doing it to satisfy Chris Paul.  I think Paul would rather play with a younger more athletic Ariza than Battier.

Houston's getting burned in this deal though.  Not sure I really like it for NJ that much either

Why is Houston doing this trade?

I give you 10 million reasons.

The $5 million they save in salary and the $5 million they save in luxury tax.

I have said all along they would be shedding salary. I just had the wrong players being shed.

Expect another $3.5 million or so to be traded away by Houston to get under the luxury tax before it is all said and done.

Houston has never paid a luxury tax dollar....and won't.

Great trade for Indiana.

Rockets would be letting Ariza go, which makes no sense for them.  Not sure why Courtney Lee would be a good move instead.

EDIT: ^ Nick has why exactly I guess lol.  TP

Not sure why NJ would want Murphy and be fine with losing Courtney Lee. I guess they could use a real PF and hold Favors back for a bit.

New Orleans loses Collison as their Chris Paul leaving insurance and gets Ariza, who certainly helps that team a good deal, but I'm not sure if you can be that risky.  I really think Ariza would be good playing with Paul, but it's just a risky move.  Collison has more value I believe.  Ariza is good but you have to get something else as well, maybe a 1st round pick.  Getting rid of that Posey contract is valuable, but Collison is very promising.

Posey and the pacers doesn't really work. How about a buy out and the return of Posey?

How may SF does Indiana need? Granger, George, Dunleavy, Posey, and Rush. I guess we just found a new potential trading partner for PP's backup.

Exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully Posey will do a buy out. I would take him back for one more year.
