I'd agree that the Thunder and the Celtics can probably offer the best packages.

Some of the others, i don't get:

Portland -- Batum? Fernandez? Aldridge? No thanks. Would they trade Roy? When is he ever healthy?

Orlando -- Jameer Nelson and Marcin Gortat? For Chris Paul?

New York -- they have no picks. Gallinari? Again, not enough...

Dallas -- Rodrique Broubois? Get serious.

The fact is the Hornets are going to have to like what they get back, and these teams aren't going to have great packages. The Cs and Thunder would offer the best talent and finances, PLUS would be the most competitive teams for Paul to be on AFTER he's traded there....

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I think he needs to add Houston to the list.  They are an aggressive team with a ton of assets.  I think they could really blow the Hornets away.

Absolutely.
I think a starting line up of:
PG: Paul
SG: K. Martin
SF: Ariza (assuming he's not part of the trade)
PF: Scola
C: Ming

can be pretty formidable.

I just want him to stay West. I think Dallas and Houston have a pretty good shot and the needed pieces.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I disagree that the Celtics have good pieces to move. Including Rondo in any deal is really complicated because of his Base Year Compensation contract... and outside of rondo we have Sheed's contract, Perk and Baby. None of those scream "take me in a trade for your franchise player!" to me.

OKC is interesting, but the young nucleus they have is really working for them, I don't see a reason to tamper with what's not broken just yet. In another season or 2, they will be a really formidable team - with or without Paul.
