Why? People can like Rondo over Paul, and vice-versa...if we were considering Hinrich/Thomas for Ray Allen I don't think this is any less 'traitorous'.

I don't like the deal simply because Rondo is a better contract with longer years, and there is a decent chance Paul will bolt when we go through the inevitable 'rebuilding'

As far as talent goes...CP3 still has the edge on offense in a big way. He's probably the better player..but not overwhelmingly so.

Don't get me wrong here, I love Rondo.  However, Paul is an outstanding defensive player and is a shooter.  Rondo just doesn't provide the shooting ability.

It was just an idea.  Its not like I was trying to trade Bill Russell...

My dream is Rajon Rondo playing for the Celtics, oh wait..... Rondo is a Boston Celtics. Dreams do come true  ;D

Not that it matters, but it took me a while too to embrace Rondo. Come join the Club  :) We have Candy

Because based on the title of the thread, I thought it was a "in the works" thing....

Not sure why the Cs aren't on the list. The only team with a potentially better package is the Lakers because they have a franchise type center to offer in return.

but which of the teams mentioned has a better player to offer than Rondo?

I love Chris Paul as a player. I'd love to see him in Green.

Just don't know why NO would even think about moving him for Rondo when they've got Collison.

Rondo is WAY better than Collison.

but aside from that, who are they going to trade him for? Jameer? Wilson Chandler? Gallinari? Bynum?

Bynum may make sense because of the position he plays, but I would argue that Rondo is the better player ...now and moving forward. Plus, LA trading Bynum really hurts their command of the post. As good as CP is, not sure I would give up a big reason they won another Title...

If you're right, then Danny needs to make the call - because I'd do Rondo for CP3.

Rather have Rondo any day, personally ... he's proven under championship pressure, CP3 hasn't been close. Pass.

the other thing is ORL has a monstrous payroll. biggest in the league I think...

and I think BOS is the only team (against the ones mentioned) that could reasonably put together a package that includes Okafor. ORL might be able to, but my gosh their payroll would be absurd.

CP3 is maybe the only player I would consider moving Rondo for given what the Cs do well.....Love Rondo, but CPs offensive upgrade would be fun to watch also...

All due respect to Chris Paul, but I'm still overjoyed that  Rajon Rondo is a Celtic.  No thanks on that trade.

another thing. since CP has an opt out after two years, CP3 would still be able to bolt for NYC with Melo if things didn't work out here....

that said, I think he would have a great time in BOS...
