With the trade of John Brockman to the Bucks, MIL is now loaded at the 4 and on the wing, while being limited at the 1 and 5. They'll likely look to move a player or two from those positions to fill in a back-up PG or a C.

I'd be interested in a number of the guys who could be traded from there. As some will recall I've had a Mbah a Moute crush since we took Giddens ahead of him in the draft, but I'm doubtful they'd trade him due to his versatility and cheap price tag.

But there are two guys who look redundant on their roster at the moment: Ilyasova and Delfino. I'd be thrilled to have either or both of them.

Enter Sheed's deal. The Bucks are rumored to be interested in Ramon Sessions returning as a back-up to Jennings. A deal of Sheed to the Wolves, Sessions and Ryan Hollins to the Bucks and Ilyasova and Delfino to the Cs works:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=28ro8pk

Each team fills a need: MIL -- back-up 1 (with history on the team) and a back-up 5 (which they need); MIN -- Freed from two contracts they have no use for; BOS -- a versitile back-up wing and a young 4 who can shoot and rebound.

By the way, the Bucks could be sneaky good. They've had an excellent offseason. One does wonder if Mbah a Moute could be had for a 1st round pick in a deal like this, but I doubt it.

Iyasova and/or Delfino would be an excellent use of Sheed's expiring deal.

Yeah, I love Delfino and think he would be great (not sure if Ilyasova is available at all, since I think he is a favorite of the GM).

Here's an article to the effect.

Look at their line-up at the 4 now:

Gooden
Sanders
Ilyasova
Brockman
Mbah a Moute
Gallon

I'd be happy to have Mbah a Moute instead, but i'd assume he's more valuable to them.

Then again, if we're going to call him a 3, look at their 2/3..

Maggette
Salmons
Mbah a Moute
Delfino
Douglas-Roberts
Hobson
Redd?

How about a 4 way deal:

Sheed to Minnesota
Sessions to Milwaukee
First round pick (from Boston) to Portland
Delfino and Rudy Fernandez to Boston

Sure -- The Bucks might need to include a back-up 4 to Portland to get it done -- maybe Tiny Gallon?

I think the author of that article makes a big leap in assuming Brockman will jump ahead of Ilyasova and/or Mbah a Moute in the depth chart.

Quote
Brockman is a Skiles-type player in that he has some deficiencies (only 6’9”, no shooting range, fairly immobile defensively) that can be overcome by a constantly running motor and physical rebounding presence under the basket. But he’s now the sixth power forward on the roster, and won’t be able to fill in for Bogut at center thanks to his lack of length and ideal size.

Almost by default, trading for the Brockness Monster signals the end of Ersan Ilyasova or Luc Richard Mbah a Moute’s careers in Milwaukee. Because the Prince is a stud defensive specialist capable of covering positions one through four, it leaves Ilyasova as the odd man out on the trading block.
That is a big leap to make.

It's the same as assuming Kendrick Perkins is on the trading block because Patrick O'Bryant was added to the Celtics roster. Well, not quite that severe, but it is along those same lines.

Quote
Ilyasova was a good story in 2009-10, but ultimately he is stuck in limbo on the bench thanks to the Bucks’ commitment to their drafted power forwards.

This too -- I can understand the Bucks commitment to Larry Sanders but too discard a player as talented as Ilyasova because of Tiny Gallon? The 47th pick in last year's draft? Come on.

The author is making huge (inaccurate) assumptions in order to reach his (inaccurate) conclusions. It's a nonsense piece. There is nothing to it.

I like just about all of the guys in this thread.  Illysova and Mba a Moute would be be excellent pickups.  Delfino is a proven player and Fernandez would hopefully blossom and play better than last year if we obtain him.

You're totally missing the point. He doesn't call Brockman or Gallon better that Ilyasova or Mbah a Moute, he just points out the logjam MIL has produced by going out and getting these guys. The inference is that the two latter players have value and therefore could be traded to open up minutes for others while bringing back players at other positions.

Patrick O'Bryant?

Yes... If we can get Ilyasova and Delfino or Delfino and Fernandez that would be awesome! Do it, Danny!

EDIT: Bucks have Dooling and they don't want any other PG

Sorry, man -- not sure you can convince me that the Bucks are satisfied having Dooling as their primary back-up over a legitmate NBA PG.

Considering their log jam at the 4, I would love to get our hands on Sanders. He looked great at the Vegas Summer League and would fill a need that the Celtics have. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the Bucks won't even consider trading him given that Skiles is enamored with him. Sean Williams was on their summer league roster too, who seems to be a poor man's Larry Sanders and should be available to sign. Total head case though.

I really liked illyasovas game last year. He really played well against the C's. He's seems like a big time effort guy with more talent. He seemed to have a knack for the ball and s hard nosed approach which is always welcomed on a Celtics team. I'd love to see him in green. But I doubt the bucks would trade delfino too. Didntbhe start for them last year? I thought he played pretty well. Even tho they have logjams at the three and four I doubt they'd get rid of both these guys for rasheeds expiring. But maybe I'm wrong just my initial thought.

TP to OP for hope-filled thread, as I too like every player in it.  We might have to give to get, however, and that means Baby in all likelihood, and possibly Perk.  I love Baby, but if he and Sheed can turn into an excellent wing and a 3/4 combo, we can then sign a couple of vet min bigs.

Rondo/Nate
Allen/Bradley/Marquis
Pierce/Ilyasova/Hayes
KG/Delfino
J.O/Kurt Thomas/Kwame Brown/Erden
