C's would get Posey back as the big 3 and Collison to back up Rondo.

We know what Posey brings to the table. Defense and 3 point shooting - only down side is his long contract and age.

Collison - young PG avg'd 5 assists backing up CP.

C's may need to give a pick as well.  your thoughts?

Rondo/Collison/Bradley
Allen/Allen/
Pierce/Posey/???
KG/BBD/Harongody
Perk/JO/???

They are not giving up Collison.  Young and good contract.  Probably would give up CP3 first which is surprising.

Posey's contract sucks, hinders rebuilding around Rondo.
CP3 would lose it if they traded another asset in a salary dump.
Dont need a salary dump because they are under the luxury tax.
We dont need Collison with Bradley in the fold and Rondo playing almost 40 minutes a game.

I read (dont remember where) NOH wants out of Posey's contract.

They will need to give up something in order to get out of that awful contract especially if they are getting a retiree.

Perhaps Collison is too high of a price. Would the C's take Posey and a unprotected #1 sometime over the next 3 years? If CP leaves (rumors are starting) that #1 might be a lottery pick.

The Celtics are going to need several #1's going forward to reload after the BIG 3.

New Orleans wanting out of Poseys contract means the Celtics were smart by not giving it to him to begin with.  Why bail them out and sign on for a contract we didnt want when he was two years younger.

Why would we want Collison when we have Rondo.  We have no need for him and there is no way New Orleans does this deal.

Also Posey's contract is terrible and he is over the hill now and not even close to the play he was in '07-'08.

Ditto, TP for you.
We are now seeing why Boston wouldn't give Posey the deal he wanted. There's no way Danny would trade for the same contract he refused to give in the first place. It just wouldn't be a smart move for DA.

It's time for people to accept that Posey is not walking back through that door.

You'd think two years would be enough time to get over that a guy is not coming back.

Hey, Danny took Walker back and look what that got us....Rondo...

kinda funny how this pick got flopped around and then back to us:

August 6, 2004: Traded by the Los Angeles Lakers (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Rick Fox and Gary Payton to the Boston Celtics for Chucky Atkins, Jumaine Jones and Chris Mihm.

February 24, 2005: Traded by the Boston Celtics (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Tom Gugliotta, Gary Payton and Michael Stewart to the Atlanta Hawks for Antoine Walker.

August 19, 2005: Traded by the Atlanta Hawks (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Boris Diaw and a 2008 1st round draft pick (Robin Lopez) to the Phoenix Suns for Joe Johnson.

June 28, 2006: Traded by the Phoenix Suns with Brian Grant to the Boston Celtics for a 2007 1st round draft pick (Rudy Fernandez).

June 28, 2006: Drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round (21st pick) of the 2006 NBA Draft.

Yeah if there's one team that we could deal with its New Orleans...because they're desperate to get rid of contracts and get better financially.  Cause from what I understand, they're in the worst shape of any team in the league in terms of finances.

Problem is, if we trade with them, now WE have to take on bad contracts.
