any1 else feeling like me in that you really dont give two hoots about the draft tonight? i usually have some interest in it, especially before the big 3, as we stunk and the draft was a time of hope.

i feel like i dont care bc:
-im still upset about the game 7 loss
-we are a veteran team and i dont see a rookie making an impact for our team (in the near or distant future) at the 19th pick
-i think that unless you have a top 5 pick in the draft, the only way to improve ur team is thru free agency and trades
-i havent watched much college hoops

I could care less about the players being drafted, as I dont follow College Hoops as much as I'd like. Besides Wall and Turner, I see everyone else as projects. I'm more interested in the trades between clubs.

I like the idea of the draft, though I could do without all the hype and over-analysis (which thankfully is nowhere near as bad as the NFL Draft hype and over-analysis).  I just literally don't know any of the players besides Wall, so it makes it hard for me to get into it.  I don't follow college hoops at all any more - except for some of the tournament.
Yup

Right now what I am most concerned with is getting PP back under contract...

The idea of him in any other uniform is just sickening to me...

Any potential Celtics trades are interesting, but obsessing who we can get at #19 is pretty boring.

I do.

Couple of keys.

1) SA is not ahead of the Celtics this year to steal another player they want (George Hill anyone)

2) They need to add a young role player.  While I don't expect a future star, a role player that could grow into a solid starter would be good.

3) trade asset.  Though, it is not a worthy as one would hope.

I love the draft, probably because I follow NCAA more than the NBA. Game 7 loss still has me depressed somewhat, but I love seeing guys i've watched for 3 or 4 years grow and finally get a shot in the league.

It's a welcome distraction for me.

I've always been a huge fan of the draft whether or not the Celtics have been prominent in it.  I remember being a kid and watching the '93 draft with Webber/Penny and it sucking me in.

I get drawn in every year.

I'm also a huge draftnik. I watch a ton of college ball. Way more than I do NBA basketball. There's something about watching the game and thinking what these players could do on the next level that I find terribly intriguing.

Then, combine that with my love for the Celtics and always thinking of ways to try to improve them and I'm hooked. Especially years like this year where this time of year is going to be so important for the future of this franchise.

In 1997 you just knew that draft would shape the Celtics for years to come. 2007 was the same thing. This year is also very similar. I truly believe that the next 2 years' drafts((drafts and trades made in and around the draft) will shape this team for the next decade.

Ditto -- I start off slow but gradually get pulled in more and more and more as the day gets closer.

I'm excited to see what all the teams try to do and see who improves their squad the most. The most roster movement of any day in the year.

I'd be a lot more excited about the draft if I thought there were any chance that the Celtics could get a player who would make a big impact now and in the future.

I used to be more into it more.

I remember being nervous as all hell that the Celtics would let Acie Earl slip past them, and hugely relieved when they took him.

I'm into it mostly from the standpoint of it's really the end of the NBA season and it's a LOOONNNGGGGG 4 months until the next season starts.  That, and I'm really interested in seeing how Danny is going to make the team better (somehow).  Seeing how other teams improve themselves is also interesting to a lesser extent.

This is really the first postseason I can remember where the interest in free agency will be bigger than the interest in the draft.  probably won't see this level of FA prizes and activity again for a very long time.
