I say take the best player available at 19. We will need help everywhere.

But in light of the NBA Finals and the injury to Perkins, and the expected retirement of Rasheed Wallace, we are undermanned up front right now. So I looked at Marc Spears write-up and came up with these names:

Solomon Alabi, Florida State, C – Scout’s take: Smart player, but his game – both offensively and defensively – is still raw. Has extremely good size. This is a gamble pick.

Kevin Seraphin, Cholet (France), C – Scout’s take: Effort-type big man with good hustle and energy. Somewhat undersized at 6-9. Cut in the mold of Paul Millsap(notes) and Brandon Bass(notes). Should be drafted in the 20s.

Hassan Whiteside, Marshall, C – Scout’s take: Raw, shot-blocking big man who has risen from obscurity. Good athlete who can run the floor. There are questions about his knowledge of the game.

Tibor Pleiss, Brose Baskets Bamberg (Germany), 7-0, 220 pounds – Scout’s take: Could drop to the second round and play overseas next season. Nice body and skilled, but not ready to help an NBA team now.

There are other names out there but I don't have time to research.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I believe that Seraphin is 6-11 and 270+lbs ... the 6-9 measurement is an old listing.

How about Cole Aldrich? A lot of people have him slipping.

CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah, I have been seeing that too.  If the C's ended up with Aldrich, they would be absolutely ecstatic.

The other guy who might slip is Patterson.  He may not be a huge need with Davis, however, he could allow the C's to use Davis as a trade chip, and I think has the potential to be very similar to Boozer.

I'd give it a 50-50 chance

If he does we'd still have to trade for a 2nd, no way he falls all the way to us in the 2nd.

I don't see him dropping that far. I think the fact that he stayed in the draft despite his knee injury means he got a promise from a team picking in the 20s.

As for bigs I would like to draft, Larry Sanders complements Rondo best offensively. He is by far the fastest big in this draft which allows him to excel in the transition game. Those two would give teams fits.
