I don't understand why Rasheed's contract, (assuming it'll be a wash and he retires) + # 19 for Fransico Garcia (3 years remaining, starting in 10/11) + #5 isn't a done deal?

Sacramento moves Evans back to teh 2 where he was more comfortable and they can address their point issue with Bledsoe or Bradley, and if Sheed's contract doesn't get paid next season, that puts Sacramento on equal footing with Chicago as far as $ goes for this summer.

Course, this is all assuming that Sheed will make a decision on this retirement in a speedy fashion. Highly unlikely.

Boston gets the best player and the best pick in the deal. There's no way Geoff Petrie agrees to this.

Well it depends on how you look at it. Boston is getting the best player, but a player who will be pine riding for Sacto all the same. On top of that it's a player they're paying 5.6 million + to for the next 3 years.

That's a burden for a team that has the capability to sign a max level FA this summer, and next if they continue cutting salary.

I hate the "best player, best pick" dismiss. That only works in August, Lucky. Stop low balling me. Alright, my 1st and my 2nd for your first and Danny Granger.

Deal?
IP you get a TP for referencing the Celticsblog draft. On a related note you all are dead meat.

Anybody want Mo Williams?
I'll give you a 13th rounder for him.

I hate you all.

Haha don't get mad, get glad :)were talkin bout the celtics baby!

I know it's upsetting that you couldn't move Mo Williams last year, but you can still draft him again this year. That would show everyone!

I leave for lunch, and find I've missed out on both Granger and Mo Williams. I am sad.

Can't really understand why the Pacers would want to get out of the draft.

Indy is close to the luxury tax (probably about $3 million under it).  If they add a lottery pick to that, it puts them right up against it, and they haven't even thought about the MLE.

If there is not anyone who they are in love with, I could see them try to use the pick to shed some salary, and pick up a future pick in return.

A deal I think could be very intriguing would be Sheed and a future #1 for Foster and #11.  That would give the Pacers some much needed savings this season, and a future number 1, and the C's get a very servicable backup center, and a lottery pick.

Whoa Chris, this makes way too much sense.

whoever they draft in the first round needs to be a guy that plays and impacts next season. no more of drafting guys and letting them sit and rot on the bench

The more I think about it, I think it makes much more sense to make it Sheed and #19 for Foster and #11, because as someone pointed out, the C's don't want to risk the future pick being a high one.  I also think that might help keep the Indy fans happy, because they still get a rookie this season, since I have a feeling they won't have a ton to be excited about, other than trade rumors with their expiring contracts.

And if the C's get the #11 pick, they can get one of the wings they covet, or possibly a guy like Udoh to put up front, and #19 might not be as necessary.

I agree that the Celtics are now in a position where they need to play guys for the future. However, if they pick one of the raw athletic bigs / wings, I wouldn't expect much of an impact this year.

If they get that deal done, with the 11th pick they need to look at Xavier Henry.

We do need to play our young guys. Especially because this current group has shown it needs extensive rest in the regular season to be healthy in the playoffs.

If only it were that easy...

And if Doc returns, he's not likely to do this.  It would have to come from someone above him, and I don't a power-struggle is what this front office is all about.

Danny needs to stop drafting trade fodder...

Make the trade, draft Cousins. He is the best pure talent in the draft. Doc comes back and lures Miller as our 6th man. COusins can start from Day One.

Guys like Ray, KG, PP, and Perk will mentor him and he will not be a problem. A future big like Cousins with a PG like Rondo and the C's will be a beast for many years to come!

If the C's pick a raw kid, I wouldn't expect more than 10 minutes per game for 40 games. Thats what I mean by not much of an impact.

If they pick a more polished player, free agency will have a lot to do with impact. We'll see. Its way to early to talk about minutes just yet.  :)

Does anyone know if it`s possible to buy another first-rounder and package him with our #19 pick to move up in the draft?
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I'd have to assume he isn't trading up for a top 5 pick.  More like in the 10-15 range.  Right where Mr. Luke Babbitt sits.
