looking at Danny's formula for late round picks I wouldnt be suprised to see the celtics draft Marqus Blakely out  of vermont late in the 2nd.

He put up good number and has good size and great length at the SF position.

Though I am hoping we can grab a big man project late I could see the Cs going with Blakely

Some mocks have Sheron Collins slipping. He's someone I'd like to take a flier on.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

great athlete I guess he won this years college dunk contest. Could be developed into a great on ball defender/fast break player. Like a SF version of TA. His length and athleticism are lottery pick worthy, just he lacks the traditional skills required by a 6'6 nba player.

If we sign him I will throw whatever chair I'm sitting on through my tv. I hate him. He reminds me of all the good European players playing in the league in that he flops, complains about every call and flails his arms to draw fouls. The only difference is he isn't good.

Living where Marqus went to college, I have seen him play in person numerous times.

He is not an NBA player.  He is an athletic 6'5" PF.  In a mid-major conference, he is able to play, in effect, like Leon Powe: never more than a few feet from the hoop, nice low-post game.  This game cannot possibly translate to the NBA: his shot will get blocked 95% of the time.

He has freakishly long arms, and is a willing defender.  But if he had wanted to make it to the NBA, he would have had to develop a quasi-credible face-up shot.  He did not.  He never will.

He could be an all-star "big" in some 6'6" and under league, but that's it.

Next!

I think one of the following will still be available at #52, and I would be happy to use a 2nd-round pick on any one of them:

In no particular order:

Terrico White
Jarvis Varnado
Lance Stephenson
Craig Brackins
Sylven Landesberg
Charles Garcia

The last two are the only players who have a shot dropping to us at #52. I love Garcia's all around game but I don't know if he is mentally ready to be an NBA player.

I'm always excited about Danny when it comes to the draft.  What I'm really excited about is who he's gonna get with the 19th pick.  It was just a few short years ago that he managed to snag Rondo who was picked at 21.  You never know what kind of guy you can get at the bottom of the first round, he could even turn out to be one of the best point guards in the NBA.

I hope Tiny Gallon falls to them.  I really know next to nothing about him as a player (although apparently he has done well in the Chicago pre-draft camp so far), but I just would love to see them throw out a front court with Baby and Tiny weighing a total of about 650 pounds.

I really wouldn't mind drafting Varnado at all. I'm a Tennessee (SEC) basketball fan so I've seen quite a bit of him over the years. I think he has great potential, he just needs some coaching and some time.
CB Draft - New York Knicks
PG: George Hill / Nate Robinson
SG: Dwyane Wade / Gerald Henderson / Christian Eyenga
SF:  Grant Hill / Paul George / Earl Clark
PF:  Kenyon Martin / Jordan Hill / (Earl Clark)
C:   Greg Oden / Kurt Thomas / Hilton Armstong

I like his game too. The fact that he only benched 185 lbs 3 times is worrisome however

Only NBA skill Blakely has is athleticism. Plus he's a post player, not a wing and he's only 6' 5" with no offense post skill. No thanks.
