Sad sad day. I grew up listening to his music and I will certainly bump his classics today.

What is this garbage with Solaar having all this control about the news of his death? It is disgusting.

Did Guru really not want Premier to pay tribute to him?

Wow, very very sad.  This was one of my alltime favorite groups.  Everything they put out was extremely high quality.  I guess he and Premier weren't getting along.

Wow, I just read the second article.  Blah blah blah solar.  He mentions solar more than his own family.

Moment of Truth was one of the best Hip-Hop albums of the 90's decade. RIP Guru, a true artist.

It's interesting what he says about premier in his farewell note:

Quote
I do not wish my ex-DJ to have anything to do with my name likeness, events tributes etc. connected in anyway to my situation including any use of my name or circumstance for any reason and I have instructed my lawyers to enforce this. I had nothing to do with him in life for over 7 years and want nothing to do with him in death. Solar has my life story and is well informed on my family situation, as well as the real reason for separating from my ex-DJ.

Guru is apparently taking the beef to his grave. Unfortunate.

Sad about Guru, and it's messed up with the whole Premier thing.

Which makes me so skeptical about this "letter". Why in his farewell latter to his fans would he focus so much on Solar and go out of his way to bash premier.

I feel like Solar is trying to make a buck on this and used Guru's death as a tool to get his name out there. It is just too obvious.

Even if Guru really wrote this letter I feel like this Solar guy was essentially brainwashing him or something. It just seems really bizarre.

Yeah, as I read on it seems as though Solar wouldn't allow family members to visit him in the hospital!

Something odd was going on here...

I don't give a crap about teh drama with Premier..it's not like I listened to Gangstarr tracks for the beats. It is sad man.

I'm not saying Premier isn't talented. Beyond Gangstarr he's worked with everyone from Biggie to Mos Def. Just thought Guru was one of the best rappers of all time.

Fair enough, I have love for Guru but I've always thought Premier was the All-star of the group.
