The guys name is Sam Adams, and he's a direct descendant of President John Adams.

I'm not too into the pop-hop or whatever but I'm happy to see someone from Boston on the verge of blowing and hope it will bring some much needed attention to the talent around here.

there is rumors floating around that he bought $75k worth of downloads himself and put it on a credit card, so its possible the numbers are a little skewed but then again what 22 year old kid has a 75k credit limit?

There was a whole thing going on between his camp and Barstool Sports last week.

Read about that download thing.  Not sure if its true but it is a bit sketchy.

I saw that as well.  Also, with barstool, have any of you guys been turned off from them as of late?  They've gone from funny to just being jerks.

1. i think the sam adams controversy was fake....and the website that reported retracted it

2. i agree re: bartsool...getting a little to big for its britches

3. i think Sam Adams is solid....his songs are pretty tight

Actually barstool was defending him, i think they are doing a local tour with him

As far as barstool goes, yeah I go on everyday but I find myself reading all the articles less and less. He is getting a little big in the head but if what he reports is true, that Barstool is the biggest independently owned sports blog in the US and gets (I think) 800,000 unique hits a month, well kudos to him

Music is dead.  :'( :'(

Edit: I like how he thinks he is a gangsta, yet he is from Wayland...

I hate the music industry.

Haha so true. Just another washed up version of a true mc with no originality. But HipHop isnt dead! It just lives underground! Seriously, dont let mainstream and the radio fool you. You just got to search for all of the real and original stuff. Despite what alot of people think, music is still being made by some crazy talented lyricist and producers.

HAHA  This dudes actually from Cambridge (where I'm from).  I think he moved out to Wayland for high school or something.  I used to play little league against him way back in the day.  He was a pretty good pitcher.

Personally I think his music is kind of garbage.  His flow is on point, but aside from that there is nothing else about his music that I really like.

This dude is using autone on some of his tracks.  Seriously.....autotune?  There is no doubt in my mind that he will sell out as soon as he gets the chance (as if he hasn't already)

Still, it's kinda cool to see someone you know blowup.  By the way, that  reported 75k scam wasn't actually true.  His sales were legit and that rumor was leaked by some record exec. who was worried about this dude blowing up even though he isn't signed to a major label (although he will be soon).
When I'm in the gym...I like to grunt when  I get my swell on... That way everyone can see how jacked and tan I am.

From what I understand sponsoring of tracks on itunes or on commercial radio stations is part of the industry.  Invest some dollars create a buzz and recoup it back plus some...

TP, I totally agree. As a musician, I only get cynical when turning on the radio to listen to some tunes. I just bought the Beatles White CD and a Hendrix CD yesterday to get some sort of a music fix. All the best music out there is the stuff from yesterday, or the stuff that never goes mainstream.
