By itself, Bacon may be the most overrated meat out there...but toss that on a sandwich, or really in anything you cook, and it takes it to another level.

I ordered a meat lovers pizza the other day and I don't think I'll do that any more. I have no problem with bacon on pizza, but some of it were just those white chunks of bacon fat and I'm just not doing it any more.

Also where in heck does the saying "Bringing home the bacon" come from?

Why bacon? Not really nutritious or more hard to obtain that other things. Not an expensive cut of meat I don't think. Bring home the beef I could get. But I don't get that. I mean who ever thought "Oh yes. If I can have one thing tonight it's bacon?"

Had a scallop and bacon pizza the other night and it was flippin' yummy.  But yeh, bringin' home the bacon is a good enough deed without the metaphorical value.  Bring home some MONEY! Eat the bacon.

Why can't Canadians get Bacon right?

Remember, Bacon is not a little round ham.

I have thought that. Bacon is great. Bring home the bacon works because of the alliteration. Beef would also work but Beef is also assosciated with problems (Ex :do you have a beef with me?). Bacon is also much tastier than Beef.

I dont like crispy bacon. I like it still really soft and greasy. Which is why I quit bacon. It was really weighing me down.

Bacon might be one of the most versatile meats ever but, believe it or not, I think Spam might be a better breakfast meat

I like it somewhere in between.  Firm, but not crunchy.

In terms of the bacons, I'd rate them:

1. Irish bacon (rashers)
1a. American bacon
...
50. Canadian bacon

Seriously, how is Canadian bacon even in the "bacon" family?  It's ham, plain and simple.  Now, I like ham, and there's nothing wrong with having it for breakfast...  but it's not bacon.  I feel like the Canadians are trying to pull a fast one on us.
