Today, while subbing in high school for the first time, I picked up the history teacher's copy of "Dr. Seuss Goes to War". During a very uneventful day it proved to be my one source of enlightenment (besides the fact that I don't want to teach high school).
I knew a lot of Dr. Seuss' later books were pretty politically charged, but I had no idea he was so conspicuously political at the beginning of his career. There were some truly fantastic cartoons from World War II during his days at PM Magazine.
I also never knew that he won 3 Oscars for films he made after the War.
Anyhow, this one was my favorite cartoon.
